names you wish were more popular?
| Thu, 06-21-2007 - 11:08pm |
I was just wondering if anyone else out there had names they liked that they wished were MORE popular. For me, it definately applies to boys names I guess because I think boys tease more than girls so I tend to like more traditional/strong names for boys but some that don't fit into that category I wish were alittle more common so I could use them and not be afraid of cursing my child with a teasing name or one that was always mispronounced!
Here's are some of mine, do you have any?
boys-
Calvin (love the nn Cal)
Curtis (may actually consider unlike the rest of the list)
Seamus
Tobin
Graham
Ruben
Silas
Ezra
Callum
Forrest
girls-
Daphne
Elodie
Delilah
Imogen
Susannah (might consider this one too, not out there)
Harper
Shani
Willa
Shyla
Kinnia

I have a friend with a son named Silas.
Delilah is probably my favorite name ever - although I love my DDs name - Eliana. But DH wouldnt let me use Delilah, he said it was too weird and had some bad conotations.

Shyla

I was think that I didn't and then I remembered I do have one: Maxine.
Maxine is too dated for most people and I hate that this name makes people think of Maxi pads. I just think that Maxine, nn Max on a little girl would be so hip!
