Naming advice...third baby

Hello! I have 2 daughters and I'm pregnant with my 3rd baby. I'm 15 weeks along, so we don't know whether this baby is a girl or boy yet. My husband is handling the boy name department, and I'm handling the girl name. My question...I've always loved the name Nora. I haven't used it thus far because it's my best friends name (though her full name is Hanorah, shortened to Nora). But this time around, my list of names that I really love is getting shorter and this name really stands out to me, and I think it would flow nicely with my other girls' names (Ava Rose and Ella Joy). Nora also happens to be my great-grandmothers name so there's a family connection as well. Do you think I should ask my friend how she would feel about it or should I just go for it? The other thing that's holding me back is that a school classmate of my eldest has a baby sister born last October (so our kids would be almost 2 years apart) who was named Nora and I kinda felt like we would be "stealing the name". We're not close families, but our daughters do play together. I mean, I've had this name on our list since my first dd was born and all the other names I love are taken (Grace, Claire, Zoe...) So, what do you think?? If I do go with Nora, here are the mn ideas I have:

Nora Irene (my fave)
Nora Grace

Also, any other names you can add to my list would be appreciated. I keep thinking I have seen them all, but it can't hurt to have more suggestions. So far I have:

Nora
Iris
Lily
Charlotte
Thanks in advance.

I'm kinda in the same boat. I love my best friends name...her name is Nori! Isn't that funny that are situations are sooo similar!!! Anyway, maybe you'd like to use Nori instead of Nora? We've picked Cassidy to use cause this will be our first girl (if it's a girl), we already have two boys. But I would ask your friend and I'd bet she would be flattered if you've been friends forever like me and Nori. I think (hope anyway) that my friend would be happy to have a little namesake but we've been friends since grade school.
My husband is the one that talked me out of using her name.

I love Nora! It's one of my favorites and I think it fits perfectly with your other girls. I can't imagine that your friend will be anything but honored if you use it. If you want to talk to her about it beforehand to assure that, go for it. My guess is that ths will be very flattered and excited. As for the classmates' sibling, I wouldn't worry about it at all. They aren't close friends and if you are going to avoid the names of eveyone related to everyone you associate with at all, it's going to be very difficult to find a name at all. Nora is not so uncommon that the baby's mother would have any reason to believe that she was the first Nora you had ever met. And the kids aren't close enough in age that they will ever be in the same class. So I really wouldn't stress about it. It would be different if she were a close friend or relative or if her baby were only a few months older than yours.

Nora Irene is nice. Here are a few others I like...

Nora Grace (this seems to fit especially well with your girls)
Nora Claire
Nora Jane

Als I love some of your other names from your list and they would make great middle names...

Nora Charlotte
Nora Lily

I would use Nora since you like it so well and have family ties. Talk to your friend, she will be honored.

Nora Irene is just way too old fashioned for me. Plus, I dont like how it sounds with Nora ending in a vowel and Irene beginning with one. Nora Grace is a bit better.

Hi there, Jessic. Ava & Ella are beautiful names. I think that Nora does fit in really nicely. Why don't you just go ahead & ask your friend? I'm sure she'd be honoured to share her name w/your sweet little baby! I wouldn't worry about your dds' friends' baby sister. You really shouldn't let things like that ruin the name that you love. It really is a fabulous name anyway. Nora Irene gets my vote too. Nora Grace is fine, but Grace is way over done in the mn department these days. Irene seems fresh. Here are my thoughts on the rest of your list-

Iris-This is different. I like it. It's one of those great names that works well for a baby, little girl, or adult. I wouldn't say that it sounds *perfect* w/Ava & Ella, but it doesn't not fit either.

Lily-I love this one. It is cute w/your dds' names, but I still perfer it as a nn. Probably for Liliana to pair w/Ava & Ella.

Charlotte-This is nice. I don't like it as much as the others, but that's probably just because it seems to be on everyones' list these days.

Here are a few more suggestions that you might like-

Clara

Cora

Celia

Dora

Gemma

Hannah-I love this for you!

Ivy-Maybe sort of close to Ava, but it's lovely.

Jane

Julia

Josephine maybe nn Josie

Kira

Lucy

Lara

Lydia

Maya

Mia

Molly-Although I like this as a nn, but just can't decide what for...

Nina

Olivia-That repeating V in Ava & Olivia bothers me, but I'm sure it doesn't bother normal people!

Phoebe

Rosa-Maybe too close to Ava's mn, but I wouldn't see it as a big deal.

Sophia

Sophie

Sarah

Tessa

Zoe

Hope this helps!

I'm not a big fan of Nora because i know a few Nora's that i'm not quite fond of, but I do like the name Mia or Maya. I think those would fit nicely with Ava and Ella. Just my opinion. Good Luck: )

I think Nora goes perfectly with Ava and Ella, and I wouldn't worry about your friend or the other family being upset. Here are some other suggestions, if you're not 100% on Nora, although I, too, love Nora Irene.
Audrey
Lila
Maeve
Johanna
Adeline nn Addy?
Evelyn nn Evie?
Amelia ** love this name, Mia is a cute nn
Lara
Celia
Mairi
Annalise

Personally I think it's your kid, name her/him what you want. If there are 13 other Nora's in the family already, so what!!!! If you like the name then choose it! If you feel that passionate about it then it is probably what you should name your child. And if it is that ackward to you then use the middle name for every day use. Name her Nora Irene and call her Irene. And I would hope your friend would understand and feel a little honored that you wanted to use a portion of her name.

Just my opinion.
