Nataniel, or Natanielle, i LOVE this name, could it pass for a girl do you think?

pronounced na-tan-YELL (like Danielle) or na-TAHN-yell

How would you say this? Are you asking if Nathaniel could be a girls name??? Sorry, but this is a classic boys name to me.

Sorry, it looks totally made up to me. At first I thought it was a combination of Natalie and Danielle. Then I thought maybe it was a poor attempt to feminize Nathaniel. In either case, I REALLY dislike it and

This actually is a feminine version of Nathan(iel), although I think the more common form would be Natania(h) (which I have seen used before). I think Nataniel looks REALLY forced, though, like basically just dropping a letter and calling it a girl name, and while Natanielle is actually listed as a verified feminine spelling of the name (in at least one book ... I'm too lazy to get out any others LOL), it does seem a bit lengthy and follows the current trend of -elle names. So basically, nms but I don't have a problem with it if you love it. ;)

Here are a bunch of other forms listed in said book, in case you're interested:

Natania/Natanya/Netanya, Netana/Netania(h), Natanela, Nathania/Nethania(h), Nathaniella/Nathanielle, Nataniela/Netaniela/Netaniella, Nataniella and Netina

I think Natania is still my favorite of these, possibly because of its similarity to Natalia (making it unique, but still familiar-sounding, KWIM?).

I like the pronunciation na-tan-YELL, but na-TAHN-yell reminds me too much of Nathaniel, which I think is just too masculine. Either way, I prefer Natalie or Natalia.

I think even with you listing how to say it, I am still having a hard time. It's NMS at all. I would go with Natalie or Natalia.
