'Nature' names maybe?
| Mon, 01-03-2005 - 7:25am |
Hi, I'm a lurker here, having just found out we're expecting a girl, I'm now getting down to thinking hard about names. I almost feel like I know what the name should be, like it's on the tip of my tongue, but I can't quite 'remember' it! Does anyone feel like that? I'm so sick of all the baby name sites with Top 100 names, that are all pretty much identical. I like the names on them, but the one I am looking for isn't there. I've got a bit of a hankering for names from nature, like Savannah, or Skye, or Fawn, or Storm, or something! Again, I like these names, but the one I want isn't there. Does anyone have any other suggestions along these lines?
thanks,
Hayley

not that I'm overly crazy about them- but how about Autumn, Summer, April
Amber, which is like a fall leaf color, is a name I do like a lot. (I'm typing as I'm thinking)
Brooke of course, is nature. that one's an OK name. there's also Dawn, a little outdated though maybe.
while I don't like just Rain or Raine - I do like Rayna - a lot - could also be spelled Raina, to look more like Rain.
Heather, also outdated, is sort of a nature word.
color names - I have a granddaughter named Sienna, the color - brownish/red is a fall leaf color. there's also Jade, becoming common as a middle, in fact it's Sienna's middle name. I thought that was a little much color, but it does sound nice together.
this one's a little "out there" - but there are a few children around named Soleil, which means sun - prounced - SO-LAY.
all I can think of for now - good luck
Just my thoughts, but I really love the ideas of Autumn and Summer. Both of those
'seasonal' names are fabulous, I believe! I'm particularly partial to Summer, but Autumn looks so beautiful in the spelling, I think.
Good luck with looking. It's fun, isn't it?
