Need 2-syllable Girl's name...

...THAT DOESN'T BEGIN WITH "A."

We "think" we've nailed down the first name, and it ends with an A, so we definitely don't want a MN that starts with the same letter. DH thinks it should be 2 syllables (although I'm not opposed to considering one or three-syllable names). I like classic/traditional sounding names (eg: Elaine) but don't want something that's too popular. DH suggested Nicole or Diane. I nixed Nicole due to a bad association, but Diane could grow on me maybe.

We would love some more suggestions!!! TIA for your help!

First of all, I think family names are best for mn's. That's why the mn spot is there!

Maybe you didn't notice, but the names you listed, Nicole, Diane, and Elaine, are all 2 syllable names with the accent on the 2nd syllable. These type of names work wonderfully as mn's as they flow so well. Here are some others:

Marie (very "filler" though, so I'd avoid it

Elise

Camille

Corinne

Celeste

Chantel

Leanne

Clarisse

Therese

Noelle

Joelle

Giselle

Brianne

Sabine

Satine

I also really like Charlotte as a mn. It would definately help if you told us what the first name is so that we can see whether it flows or not...

What is the fn you've decided on? It's much easier to suggest some mns when you know what you're working with. ;)

Thank you all for your help so far. OK, now I'm wavering again on which first name to go with. The ones we like are all very similar sounding (Sabrina, Camilla, Sofia, Gabriella). They sound nice with our Italian surname. Any one of these would be a family name, so the middle name can be "filler" as long as it flows well.

My favorite middle name suggestions so far are Danielle, Elise, Giselle, Brielle and Camille--(if we don't go with Camilla). Hmmmm....most of those sound the same too. LOL

Which of these combos sounds best? Or do you have any other suggestions now that you know the possible first names?

Thanks Stephanie,

I'll run these past my DH and see what he thinks. I really like Rochelle, Megan, Rachel, Dawn, Kate and Jade. Hmmmm....Sabrina Rochelle? Sofia Jade? Argh! This is hard! LOL
