I am expecting my first daughter on 1-16-08, and had decided that I love the name Taylor! Now, however, my 14 year old son says that Taylor is a boy's name (he has no less than 2 male friends named Taylor) and wants me to name her Andrea. I would love any advice on this topic, and would welcome any suggestions!! Thanks so much.

listen to your son and avoid taylor. i can't stand unisex names. you don't want ppl to have to guess whether your child is a boy or a girl. i'm not a fan of andrea either. i do, however, love hayley, esp that spelling. i hate when ppl leave out the first y. i think hayley teresa is cute =)

No, don't be sorry! I've pretty much gotten used to the idea that her name WON"T be Taylor! LOL... Now I'm trying to decide between Teresa Elaine and Hayley Teresa (or Hayley Elaine!) Such a big decision, so little time left! Merry Christmas!

I've only known one Taylor and she's a girl(about 17). But I personally don't like it for either gender not sure why. Also I don't find Andrea very attractive, not sure why. It seems very off to me. But of your new choices I love Hayley Elaine, my DH and I were thinking about that name for our future DD.

first of all, congrats on your capricorn! my bday is the 15th and my husband's is on the 17th!

my dh wants to name our daughter (due in april) taylor. he is a high school teacher and has just as many female than male taylors. i have a 10 year old and know that it can be hard when they have an opinion about the baby name-- you are glad that they even care, but don't want to offend them by not using their choice.

i suggest explaining to your son that the name is acceptable for both boys and girls and use the name he chose as a middle name-- just a thought!

Taylor is an unisex name and I've heard of it for both girls and boys.
