Need girl's name opinion

Next week I find out if I am having a boy or girl so i wanted to get some opinions on the girl name that i like. I already have a 2 1/2 year old little girl named Jadyn Alexis and if this one is a girl i was thinking of the name Aeryn Kynedi (pronounced Erin Kennedy). My mom doesn't mind the name but hates the spelling and my boyfriend doesn't even want to talk about names until we know the sex, so i need some outside opinions. WDYT about the name and it's spelling.

I love the name Erin, but spelled the traditional way.

"Aeryn" is too close to the word "Aryan," which has a terrible connotation from Hitler/WWII.

Kennedy isn't really my style regardless of spelling, but would go with the traditional spelling if you do use it.

AJ, enjoying life with C.

Honestly, I would assume that the parents couldn't spell and couldn't be bothered to find out how to spell the names properly. This is truly a horrible thing to saddle your daughter with. Erin Kennedy is a perfectly nice name and goes well w/ Jadyn Alexis. If you really feel the need to make her name more kre8tiv maybe go with Eryn or Erinn.

Very cute name, I just think you are setting your daughter up for a life time of people mispelling and mispronouncing her name. Everything from school papers to official documents.

I think Erin Kennedy (sorry I can't remember how you spelled it :-)
is a very pretty name. I like it alot!!I even appreciate how you chose to spell Erin. I think its a nice change to a name we've seen many times, and unless people are being stupid on purpose!....I think your little one will have no trouble with her first name. However, I had a little trouble figuring out your Kennedy variation...and I really tried to "see it". To me it just didn't look like Kennedy sorry! My advice to you would be to get creative with only part of the kid's name because there are alot of people out there that are very ignorant or stubborn about even trying to pronounce a name correctly, never mind appreciate it! Good luck with everything, and remember it is totally up to you how you will spell your child's name, and if other people give you a hard time...tell them to get over it, and think about something more important to complain about!

I am fairly okay with Aeryn, even though it's nms to use alternate spellings, because when I look at the name I don't think of it as an alternate spelling of Erin but as another name entirely. My first thought when I saw the name was "oh, it's like the word 'aerie,'" and I thought of it as evoking the sky and heights and open space. (aerie according to dictionary.com: the lofty nest of a bird of prey, as an eagle or a hawk, or any large bird; a house, fortress, or the like, located high on a hill or mountain; pronounced air-ee or eer-ee; also spelled eyrie)

I wouldn't, however, use it just as an alternate spelling, and even if you mean it to be a totally separate name, your daughter will definitely spend her whole life spelling it for people. That's not always the end of the world for a cool, truly unique name, but think hard before you do that to your baby just to break the mold of an old name.

If you want a more interesting spelling of Erin than the ordinary, I know someone (very Irish-American--her last name is Flannery) named Éireann, the Gaelic word for Irish (it can also be spelled as Éirinn--different Gaelic dialects apparently have slightly different spelling systems). It's pronounced as Erin, and even though it's not a common spelling of the name, Erin is actually derived from it, so nobody can claim you are mispelling anything. I think it's a beautiful version and well worth the repeated spelling that will be necessary. My one concern in this case is that I'm not sure it goes well with Jadyn stylistically.

As far as Kynedi goes, it wouldn't, in any phonetic system that I can imagine, be pronounced Kennedy. I vote absolutely no on that, because no one will know how to say it or spell it ever.

Kennedy goes well with Erin, since it is also an Irish surname, so I agree with many of the others that they are a good match. However, I wonder how well this very strongly Irish set of names goes with Jadyn Alexis (Hebrew or Spanish and Greek origins respectively). I would expect Erin Kennedy's sister to be Brenna, Bridget or Fiona, not Jadyn.

hmmm ... I really like the name Erin with Jadyn but I dont really care for the spellings. I had my nails done by a lady named Erin but spelled her name Aaren or Aaryn (cant remember which) but she hated it she said that she wished her name was spelled Eryn, which I really like:

Eryn Kennedy GMV
