Need help for a baby girl name!!!!!
| Fri, 03-02-2007 - 4:50pm |
I have been at this for awhile now and I still have not found a name I really love. I am due in just a few weeks. Big brother is Connor. The last name begins with Sh and is 3 syllables long. Any suggestions?? We have come up with Kaylee Grace and Leah Nicole, but Im not convinced either one of these is "the name". Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Im really starting to stress now!

If you like Kaylee and Leah, but you're not convinced either is the one, have you tried finding some names with similar qualities that might also appeal?
For example, if it's the sound of Leah you like, you might also like Lile (the Irish form of Lily, pronounced LEE-luh ... also a nice match with Connor, btw). ;) Or, to take that even further, Lila(h), Lilith, Lillian, Lillias/Lilias/Lileas (Scottish forms of Liliana) or even something like Amelia, Amalia, Emilia, Aurelia, Eulalia, Adelia, Cordelia, Cecilia, Bidelia or Liadan (also Irish), with Lia as a nn.
Or, if it's the Biblical aspect of Leah that appeals to you, you might try something like Talitha, Naomi, Miriam, Mary/Moira/Maura, Dara (both Biblical and Irish) or Lydia (could also shorten to Lia).
I'd personally stay away from another C or K sound name with big brother Connor, but if you like the "-aylee" sound names there's also Bailey, Hailey or similar names like Ainsley, Paisley, Aileen, Aila/Ayla, Cecily, Hadley, Halle or Lindsay.

tossing around. Thanks so much!
Kaylee is waaaay too cutesy and popular, I am glad you have decided against it. Leah is just gorgeous though. I see your reasoning for using Nicole as a mn (I am guessing it is your name from your displayname) but is there any meaning behind Grace? It is soooo common as a mn, has pretty much lost ALL of its appeal!
Here are some names I like with Conno...
Amelia
Mia
Georgia
Scarlett
Aislinn
Brooke
Bronwen
Ainsley

I have a name, maybe you have tried it.... Reagan, Raven, ....Just a suggestion......... Hope everything goes well....
the names like Kaylee are just way too overused - there are dozens of them that almost all sound too much alike - Kaylee, Kylie, Keely, Kaylin, Katelin, Kayla (I like that one the best though - Kayla)
to me Leah seems too traditional for Conner
I think Delaney would go great with Conner - both Irish names
good luck
Kaylee Grace is pretty in my opinion. I have only ever known two Kaylee's, a sweet little girl who spelled it Kalea, and then a crazy teenager, Kali, who constantly informed everyone her name meant "goddess of death". That meaning would be the only thing that ever turned me off from it.
I have never personally been a fan of Leah, don't really know why, it is just not my style, but I love Nicole---it seems to be a good middle name for a wide variety of names.
Out of your choices, I would pick Kaylee Grace.
Some other names that I think would sound good with Connor:
Madelyn Grace/Madeleine Grace
Rilee Nicole/Rilee Grace
Caitlin Nicole/Caitlin Grace (possible nn Cait)
Lindsay Nicole/Lindsay Grace
Just some ideas! Good Luck!
