We're really having a hard time with these two names since we like them both. We both love the nickname Lexie for Alexis but I'm shying away from Alexis because it's been so popular. We also both like Larissa and it was a name that my mother was going to give me that I've liked for a long time. But we aren't crazy about the nickname Lacey...I do like Lara but not as much as Lexie.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I'm not a fan of nns so I'm confused ... if you like the name Larissa (I like it of all your names) why would you call her by a nn? Wouldn't you just call her Larissa all the time?

Of your fns I really like Larissa, not Alexis. Of your nns I like Lexie over Lacy.

I'm trying to think of nicknames because my husband and I tend to use them often. This is our first child but we have a dog and cats and they all have nm's. But now that I think of it a lot of the nicknames we use have more to do with their personality than their actual name. And I know animals are not the same as babies but I just know we'll have nm's for her.

I guess we're mainly stuck because I favor Larissa over Alexis and my husband is the other way around.

Have you considered another variation of Alexis to get the Lexie nn?

Any chance of using the name Larissa Alexis? You could still call her Lexie as a nn. Other NNs for Larissa that I can think of are : Lara, Lari (both pronounced Lahr-uh and Lahr-ee), Rissa, Reecy (yes that is a stretch), LaLa (lol), Lolly ... at any rate!

I think Larissa Alexis sounds nice.

Yes we considered other variations of Alexis (Alexandra, etc.) but the only one we like is Alexis.

We also thought about combining the two names one as a first name and one as a middle but with our last name it sounds like too much of a mouthful. Plus if we ever have another girl we would like to keep one of the names available.

We are considering:

Alexis Grace or Alexis Rose

Larissa Grace

I like Larissa because it's less common and I wouldn't use a nickname for either. I like to use full names because they are often so pretty as themselves.
