Hi this is our second child and they are (21yrs) apart! To say we were in shock is to put it nicely. However I am at a lost for names. We're having a boy, due December 10 and the name I chosed, Huntington Blade seems perfect to me however I'm the only one that feel that way. Will you give me suggestions.

Thank You

Gail

Huntington is OK by itself but w/ Blade it sounds a little violent imho. What about Blake instead and what about Hunter?

Hunter Blake or Huntington Blake?

I agree with the previous post about Huntington Blade, sounds to me like hunting blade. I like the the other suggestion of Huntington Blake. Would you shorten Huntington to a nickname, if so, what would it be?

Congrats on your pregnancy!

Maybe the problem people have with Huntington is that it reminds them of Huntington's disease. That's the issue I have with the name Addison and a few others. I like Hunter because Hunt is my maiden-name. I would use it only it doesn't go with my married name as it is an animal!

Well, if you don't want to give it up, than don't! If you feel that strongly about a name, than use it. Don't let anyone change your mind. You may come up with a nickname, and you may not want one. Its your choice. FOrget what I said or what others said, if you love it, than go with it!

Hello Gail,

First of all congratulations! I am due in January and it is a girl. Her name is Ella and we are having trouble coming up with a middle name. She is the second child of the family her big brother is four. We named him Cameron and I thought that this might get you interested in another name for a boy. If you are still thinking about Huntington are you going to give him a nickname of Hunter? If not see if the family likes Hunter due to the fact that it still has the Hunt in it if it is a family name. Cameron is my mother-in-law's maiden name. My husband and I loved it and said this is the one then an hour later we realized that it was a family name. His middle name is Harte because of a favorite Uncle on my husband's side. Good luck and God Bless.

First, I think it's a mouthful. Picture yourself calling this child across the playground. I think it's a somewhat long name (Huntington) but, more than that, it's kind of hard to say; it doesn't flow off the tongue easily.

Second, I don't really care for it. I'm not crazy about the fn or mn. It's almost pretentious.

That said, if you & your dh love the name, go for it!

It might be helpful to know your other child's name (I haven't read the other posts so forgive me if you've already given that info).
