Need Help With Girls Names

It looks like I'm pregnant with my second child, now I need names for my daughter's brother or sister. For boys I like Matthew James or James Matthew. Those names are pretty set, just have to pick one. My trouble is find a girls name. There are so many to choose from and I'm clueless, which is why my fiance named our daughter and picked a beautiful name. I have a list of names that seem okay to me and I'm wondering what you think of these? Nothing is set with these names, so any added names would be helpful too (anything except Lauryn, Alexis, and Nicole- those names are already taken).

Ashley
Kristyn
Audrey
Kelly
Amanda
Michelle
Alexandra

I can't get any good middle names with these either.

What is your daughter's name? That could help us suggest names that might go well with it. From your list, my absolute favorite is Audrey (beautiful name), followed at a distance by Alexandra. The others all seem dated to the 1980s to me. Off the top of my head, you might also like Meredith, Cassidy, Cecily, Aubrey, Kirsten, Gwendolyn, Amelia, Bridget, Amy, Audra, Elena...

I would also like to put in my vote for James Matthew rather than Matthew James. I think James is such a handsome, distinguished name, and it has a couple of really adorable nicknames, Jem and Jamie. Matthew just doesn't really do anything for me.

Hope this helps!

I agree with the pp. I too love the name Audrey. What about either Audra Michelle or Audrey Michelle? Both are nice.

Ashley- outdated
Kristyn- Love Kristin or Kristen, but this y seems unnecessary
Audrey- beautiful
Kelly-outdated
Amanda- outdated
Michelle-outdated
Alexandra- beautiful, although nn Alex is popular and it is also similar to Alexis which you mentioned is off limits

I think many of the names on your list were too popular in the 70's and 80's and still are associated with that time. What is your daughter's name? Maybe we can suggest some names that will go with that.

Here are some ideas (I will try to avoid anything too modern as that seems to fit your taste)
