Need help with Hollybeth/Hollyanne!!

I'm expecting a Christmas baby girl this year! I love the name Holly (especially for a Christmas baby), but my last name is also two syllables ending in y, so I thought I'd try Hollybeth or Hollyanne. Beth is my grandma, and Anne is my middle name. I kind of prefer Hollybeth, DH prefers Hollyanne (he loves the Boston song by the same name).

I guess I have two questions. First, which name do you prefer - Hollyanne or Hollybeth? Second, what middle names can you suggest? If I use Hollyanne - is Hollyanne Elizabeth too long winded? What about Hollybeth Anne? Does that flow okay? What about using Noelle (Hollyanne Noelle, Hollybeth Noelle) - would that be just a little too Christmasy?

Thanks in advance for any thoughts and suggestions!

I like Holly alone. I dont like Hollyanne or Hollybeth IMHO. But Holly Anne or Holly Beth/Elizabeth are nice.

Holly Noelle is beautiful, I know a girl she is in her late teens, she was born a couple days after xmas and her mother named her Holly Noelle.

I love Hollybeth Anne!

I think Hollyanne Elizabeth is a little long, especially if you think of her as adult having to fill in her name in those little boxes on forms.

Noelle is a beautiful name too, but I think paired with Holly it just screams -I'm a Christmas Baby!-

I like both names better as two separate names....when they are written out as one name, they just *look* funny.

Hollyanne Noel is just beautiful. I don't think you can be too Christmasy with a Christmas baby! Not as long as you're using established names, anyway. It's such a great opportunity to celebrate that time of year for her birth with her name.......not too many holidays give that.

Hollybeth is cute, but I prefer Hollyanne. That spelling makes it look a bit long, what about Holliann? That seems more like one name instead of two. Or even Hollianna is cute. I think it goes well with Noelle, but maybe Noel is better to keep it from being so long together. Holliann Noel, Hollianna Noel, Hollyanne Noel, really I like them all. Or even Hollyanne Christine? Hollyanne Elizabeth is good too. Hollybeth Anne sounds a little like Holly Bethanne when said together, which is a good option except you said your last name wouldn't work. If you use Hollybeth, I think I like it as Holly-Beth.

While I prefer Holly on it's own, I do see why it doesn't work with your ln.

Thank you all for your responses! I agree with many of you that Holly by itself looks nicer than Hollybeth or Hollyanne. I'm thinking that maybe I'll use the name Holly Annelise and call her Holly Anne or the name Holly Elizabeth and call her Holly Beth. That way Holly by itself won't sound so sing songish with my last name.

If you have any other thoughts, I'd love to hear them! Thanks again!

I like the name Holly a lot, but I don't care for those two variations, Hollybeth or Hollyanne.

I know several people whose names end in y whose last name also end in y. it's not that bad of a sound. If I knew your actual last name I could give you a better opinion of how Holly sounds with it, but I certainly understand some people's hesitancy to give their full names on here.

for instance I know an Amy and a Hailey (related) whose last name is two syllables and ends in ley. they sound find together.

I also love the name Noelle as a Christmas name. Sometimes I think it would be really cute to use both first and middle Xmas names, but maybe it is a little cheesey.

I personally think Holly Elizabeth together is really good, but again, I'd have to hear that last name to make a true opinion.

good luck.

I like your idea of doing Holly Anneliese and calling her Holly Anne and Holly Elizabeth caling her Holly Beth. But of the 2 i like Holly Anneliese 'Holly Anne'
