maybe your husband would be willing to compromise...could stanley be his middle name? my parents did that so my brother went by a different name but was still named after my dad. maybe...
I agree, my dh is a JR. names Stewart , he hates his name and wishes his dad didnt insist on naming him after himself. He has always been picked on for his name. He just HATES it.... his brother is Stanley and he has always hated his name too. If your not sold on the name I say persuade him to use it as a middle name.
If I admit that I frequently wonder why Stanley doesn't get used on girls the way Sidney does, does that sound bad? (It's not that I want it to, it's just that Sidney and Stanley feel so similar to me...)
I know you don't want to make your son a jr; are you okay with Stanley, itself, though? If not, maybe you can convince him to flip the order (cite the "it would get SO confusing with two Stanleys in the same house" argument...it's handy.)
