Need MAJOR help w/ boys name

Hi, I'm new here. We are due July 28th with our second child - a boy. We are having the HARDEST time trying to name this little darling. Here is some info:
-Our last name is Italian -starts with a "D", ends in "O"
-My name is Sherri Marie
-My husband is Dominic Albert
-Our daughter is Lola Mary
-We are going to use "Daniel" for a mn - after my brother who passed away so I'm not really willing to budge on this although his father recently passed and he wanted to use something to honor his father in either the 1st or middle name, however his name was "Aniello" and there is just NO WAY we are using that
-I'm not really fond of Italian boy names so although my hubby tried to push this issue I think I got him to back off

My pick was "Simon" but he just isn't going for it. He is now suggesting "Tyler" and I'm not sure how I feel about it. I just need some opinions and help from this board - you seem like experts at this!!! Obviously any 1st name starting w/ a "D" is out b/c the mn and ln both will both start w/ "D" (...and do you think I should reconsider the middle name? It would break my heart and I thought we could make it work w/ a good first name but it just isn't happening for us.)

We like boys names that aren't too feminine sounding and that aren't too common.

THANKS!!!

Sherri

hmm...tricky tricky. Tyler and Simon seem really different.

What about:
Bennett
Stewart
Lewis
Harris
Eli - or Elias, nn Eli
Anton - a nod to Aniello? Ansel might work too
Isaac
Emmett
Peter
Xander

good luck,
Brooke

I love the PP suggestion of

Anton Daniel! I think that flows beautifully, is similar to Grandpa's name and uses the name you shouldn't have to give up.

Good Luck

Griffin Daniel

Isaiah Daniel

Nathan Daniel

Carson Daniel

Walker Daniel

I sympathize w/ your plight. I am due 7/18 and am in the same boat. The 28th is my DH's b-day by the way. I think he would love it if that were the day we welcomed our little one (me not so much). Anyways, I thought I would share some names I love. I won't be using any of these because DH doesn't love them.

I DO like the suggestions of Anton and Oliver.

I like:

Carston
Maxson
Gage
Shea
Asa
Emerson
Samaj
Jacobi
Cash
Kagan

Good Luck!!!

Have you considered Daniel as a fn? I think it could sound good with a D___O last name unless the sounds are too similar. I really like Simon with Lola BTW! Tyler is starting to be used for girls and it just doesn't have the same sparkle as Lola for me. Good luck!

How about Anna or Neil to honor your father in law?
