Need name for #2
| Tue, 10-10-2006 - 3:19pm |
Okay....I need help. As I've said in previous discussions our dd name is Alyssa Kay, and we need a name for a second girl (if it happens to be one). Lots of people don't agree with naming all children with one letter (A) and very opionated about that! We are running into a loss on a name. I want one that sounds good with our first daughter and is a little different. I'm not a Mary, Jane, etc. kind of person (no offense, just not my type!)
HELP PLEASE (for those that aren't sick of me!)
Danielle

Alyssa is a great name, however I am definately one of those people who are opposed to matching sib name letters. Here are some ideas that don't begin with A.

Hello again.
I'm thinking Alyssa Kay is named for someone, if I remember correctly... If that is the case, I would want you to find a family mn for this one too. Actually, I think Danielle would be a perfect mn, this time! If not for family, then a favorite character/movie/place or at least, a mn of good meaning.
It seems like maybe you DO like matching fn letters but aren't sure about it because a lot of us don't...
What about the same no. of letters? This is a more subtle way to connect sibling names-

First of all.. thank you Ginger for being so helpful and kind with your comments!I have looked at a few boards before I ever got the guts to post myself and most everyone was nice. However, I have run into some people who are very hurtful in the "comments" on issues. While I appreciate opinions, some people haven't cared how they phrase them.
I am at the place now that I just want to find a name that I love... and I just haven't stumbled upon it, and it worries me! Like I said, I really like Aubrey, and dh did say that if we can't find another we like by our due date, Aubrey Lynn it would be. I do like Erica, but would love to spell it Arica ( I see nothing wrong with this ) I know someone whose name is Arrin instead of Erin and like the uniqueness with it! Dh had mentioned the name Erica previously and it does sound good with Alyssa.
I was CERTAIN for a long time that I wanted sibs with first letter the same, and now I'm just not sure...I just can't believe how hard of a time I'm having this time around!! Thank goodness all of you are here to sound off of and find some help with this! I'm not opposed to a different letter name, just want to find one that "snaps" (know what I mean?)Would like to use Leigh for a mn (that is a family name, and Kay is also a family name)
Thank you for all your suggestions, hopefully I'll find that magic name. The kicker would be that I've stressed over a name for a girl, and we end up having a boy!!
Growing up I hated the fact that all of us siblings were D's...I don't know what made me want to do the same thing....actually the closer I get to my due date the more I don't want to be "confined" to the A letter. I just want a different name that goes well with Alyssa and makes me go "YEAH, that's it!".
I do kind of like Jillian, I'm just struggling this time, and can't figure out why..my problem is that alot of names that have been suggested remind me of someone (and not always in a good way!) We live in a small town and don't want my daughter to have a reference to someone else (especially in a negative way!) I will probably stress over this and we will end up with a son!! :)
Thanks for any and all suggestions that you have...I lost my baby name book...need to go out today and buy another one so I can continue to search!!
