My due date is Aug. 25 and me and my husband are still not agreeing on too many names for our soon to be born daughter. Matter of fact my 2nd daughter who is 11, went a whole week without a name because we couldn't agree on one. We just kept calling her baby until we finally decided on Anne Ofeia Shepherd (which was actually my mom's idea since she was getting tired of us calling this baby "baby").
The only name we have actually agreed on so far is "Sanaa La-Dessa Shepherd". We wanted the first name to be exotic with a sincere meaning. Sanaa(pronounced san NAH) means brilliance of beauty. And as far as the middle name"La'Dessa"; my mother (Odessa) passed last year, and naming my daughter after her would be like my special tribute to her.
We asked several of our family and friends and have received mixed comments. Some said it sounded too old fashioned, or too ethnic. While others loved it and encourgaed us to stick with it. We just wanted the honest opinions of other people that we didn't know so that we can be prepared to name our lil bundle of joy in a few weeks.
Thank you...

While I think it's pretty, and unusual (you'll have to spell it for people throughout her childhood), it IS pretty close sounding to the name of your first daughter. Have you thought of that? What do you think? Or is it different sounding enough for you?
