Francesca? Sophia? Julia? Lia? Oh where do I begin?
I am suddenly an emotional basket-case when it comes to deciding on a name for my first child, a girl...due in May. I am a second daughter and was given a cute name which I always felt was too cute (Melody Lane). I want a name for my daughter that conveys something stronger and unique. I think a name starts an important process in a person's life. My husband (from Northern Italy) came up with the name Kyla, which to my knowledge, does not mean anything, (but I am researching).. it is definitely unique. A good friend suggested Francesca with the statement that it is "elegant, strong and beautiful." Like every parent, I want the best for my daughter. I am hoping your suggestions can help. My parents are not approving of this pregnancy, so there are only hateful suggestions from that corner. My siblings are supportive and leave it up to us. Thus I turn to the 'peanut gallery' for assistance due to my hormonal brainless moments. Thank you for your suggestions and understanding.

Here's a link to the most popular baby names for 2000 in Modena. In case you don't read Italian, the left side of the list are names of all residents, while the right side just has the top baby names for that year.

I'm new to the board and saw your post. I knew someone years ago that named her daughter, Bella Amore, which means beautiful love. I have always thought that was such a beautiful and unique name. My husband does not like it which is why I have always used it as a screen name since I couldn't name my daughter with it. I am pregnant again with my 2nd daughter and I'm working very hard to convince my husband to go with the name Isabella, which is beautiful. I don't like to shorten names so she would just be Isabella. Anyway, hope that helps. Good Luck!

Kyla means Lovely. It's very popular in my daughter's school (elementary) along with Kayla, Kaila, Kaili, Kaitlyn, Kaleigh, Kalei, Kaylee, etc.
