i'm due on about a week and a half - not too good to not have decided on a name yet but oh well. i have a dutch background, my husband is iranian, it is very important for him for our little son to have an iranian name, i said that was okay as long as there would be one that sounded a little bit north american, we can't seem to find one so right now we've basically decided on ryan (my personal favorite) ali (my husband's name). what you you think of that? does it sound too much like trying to mix two very different cultures or does it sound okay. i need some honest opinions.

How about BEHNAM-Means "reputable" in Persian

And call him "Ben"

or also JAHAN-Means "world" in Persian.

And call him "Jay"

Ryan Behnam sounds nice, if you want to give him an Iranian middle name.

or Behnam Ryan.

Good Luck and let us know what you end up choosing! =)

I think the name you chose is wonderful. I also think it's great that your husband has an opinion on the name of your son. Mine tells me he doesn't care and it drives me nuts.
