Need some feedback on a name

My husband is really set on the name Henry James if we have a boy. I don't mind it, but I don't know how I fell about it in the long run. What are you ideas?
Does it sound too old fashioned? Are there nicknames that make it a bad or good choice?
All I can come up with is Hank or Hankie(at the worst) Harry I guess would be a tease name.
I am just so confused on this name.
Thanks for helping,
Sherri

My DH's best friends's name is Henry--until I met him I'll admit, I did picture a man it his later years when I heard the name Henry, but now it has really grown on me and I really like the name.

I know so many little Henrys I don't think he would get teased much at all. He might even be Henry D. in his classroom.
My question though is your DH a big fan of Henry James the autor? Portrait of a Lady, The Bostonians, The Turn of the Screw? That is what I first thought when I read your post. As they are both common names I don't think most people would immediately think that, but was wondering if that was your DHs intent.
Henry is a great name, and James is a very nice classic mn.
Actually no, My husband doesn't read all that much and when he does he goes for the more adventurous books. I am the one who actually made the connection to the author. His theory behind the name is an odd one.
Henry is for The Beast from the X-men comics (all of our children will have names inspired by this comic series) I know it is weird.
James is for his fathers middle name.
Alyssa will be a big sister in
I personally am not a fan of either name. Henry just isn't my style and James is just, well, blah, boring.
together they sound too much like a King from England. yuck.
nothing against England. just the whole royalty thing would be a weird thing to sound like.
I love Henry James, the author. The Bostonians is possibly one of the best books ever written. But I would, under no circumstances, admit to naming my child (much less ALL my children) after an X-men character. But, hey, it's your kid. The name is great, and likely not one that he will take a lot of kidding for...unless he admits to its origins.
Congratulations on the baby!
