Need unique name thats TOO weird

My DH and I are having a hard time coming up with names. He likes odd/unique names and while I agree that I don't want an overly-popular name, I don't want anything too weird either. This morning, he suggested "Halo" as a girls name to me, so as you can see, we're not getting anywhere. LOL!

Can I get some suggestions for unique names for boys and girls please? I'd appreciate the help!

Thanks everyone! I compiled a whole big list from you suggestions :) I'll go over them with DH and see if any appeal to him. We went grocery shopping today and while standing in line he again says to me "I just really like Halo." LOL! Maybe as a middle name?

Jen, some that I had in mind so that you can get an idea of my naming style (though probably not funky enough for dh) are:

Girls:
Mariel
Haven
Ariel
Larkin
Lana
Charlize
Scarlett
Natalia
Heidi
Autumn

Boys:
Drake
Draven
Xavier
Phoenix
Gage
Dane
Isaiah

I am glad you found a few Becky, hopefully he goes for some of them :) Does he want Halo for both a boy and a girl? Also, is he naming for the angel Halo or the video game Halo? Sometimes the DH can be much more receptive if you just cave in and say you will use it as a mn and he can call her that for a nn. Charlize Halo would be fine but I think there might be a little bit of an issue with Scarlett Halo ;)----I love your list choices, especially the boys they are great! I will look for some more in your style tomorrow so check back and good luck!

He only likes it for a girl and its the whole sweet angel meaning. Maybe we can work it in as a mn. Thanks for your help!

When we had Delanie on our list last time, one of the meanings I stumbled upon for it was "angel from heaven." Just thought I'd mention it since your dh seems to like that type of meaning (and Delanie is certainly more common than Halo, but definitely not top ten or anything). ;)

Some others with "angel" meanings (besides the obvious Angela, Angelica, Angelina type names) - Angeni (close to the others, but not common at all), Agnola (the nn Nola is cute), Arella, Aniela (with the more popular nn Ella if you wanted her to have the option), Malaika, Seraphina/Serafina, Cassiel, Dabria (these last two Latin choices might fit dh's style ... and they're cute ;), Muriel, Neria, Oriel, Tamera, Uriel/Urielle

I looked at a couple of the replys and most of the odd/unique names are over popular. My son has a Hallo, Piper, Caitlin, Cade, and Gage in his class You would think those names would be rare But the in thing is to name your child different or spell it different. Being that my name is Katy it was always a pain growing up always being called Kathy or being asked for my real/full name.

A unique/differnet name right now would be.

Girls
Ann
Adelle
Beverly
Edith
Joyce
Joann
Jennifer

Boys
Brandon
Ralph
Harold

"Cool Names for Babies" by Satran & Rosencrantz is a great book! My entire playgroup has their own copy. Now I give it as a gift to any friend who is pregnant for the first time. I must also recommend checking this book out, it is "out there", but really fun to read through-and definitely has a chapter for everyone! A friend from playgroup found her daugheter's name from that book "Bronwen" its Welsh and although a bit too daring for my personal taste, I must say I love the name. I am sure something "angelic" could be found in it!
