Welcome to the board, Jill, and congratulations on your first little girl. ;)

If you're not in love with Mabel Lucille, have you considered using one of the other as either a fn or mn? Or even switching the order to Lucille Mabel? Lucy is actually on the rise as a nn, so she'd fit right in with her peers, and the fact that it would be for someone so dear to you makes the connection even sweeter. Just a thought!

FWIW, I don't think you need to use a second mn unless you honestly want to honor someone else (or if you do use both Mabel and Lucille, either order,

Hi Jill. I've seen you around on other boards, I think. It's good to see you here as well. Congrats on the little girl, I know you must be so excited!

I adore both Mabel Lucille and Lucille Mabel nn Lucy. And the fact that the name has so much emotional significance makes it that much more wonderful. If you want something a little more common (but not terribly popular) I'd go with Lucy. If you want something a little more unique, go with Mabel. Neither name is terribly popular, but I know quite a few Lucys and no Mabels. I absolutely adore both Mabel and Lucy, so I don't think you can go wrong.

As for a second middle name, I don't think you NEED it. If you have someone else you want to honor, a second middle name would be a fantastic way to do it. If not, the name is perfect as is!

If you're not crazy about Mabel Lucille, you could use them as a double mn or use one of them as the mn, then go with an entirely different first name:

Starling Mabel Lucille
Elizabeth Mabel Lucille
Amelia Mabel
Sophia Mabel
Lucille

you know I really like Annabel... I don't think I could get SO to go for it though. SO doesn't like the 'belle' or 'lee' names. SO is going for Mabel only because of my grandma. Thanks for the welcome and for the advice ya'll!
