New Here!

Hello, just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Jean Pratt, and I am pregnant with my second child. I am stumped as to what to name her (if she's a girl). I have a DD already. Elizabeth Grace is almost 4 years old. We call her Ellie, or sometimes Beth. If this baby is a boy, we have a few top contenders picked out, but we can't seem to find the perfect girl's name! The MN is still undecided as we are choosing from a few family names, but we will think about that after we get the first name taken care of.
We are looking for something classic, but maybe not too common. It has to have nn potential though. Neither me now DH are into trendy or unisex names. We prefer feminine names that portray an image of a strong woman. Any ideas?

Sounds like we are similar in our tastes...our little girl is named Charlotte Gray (Gray is a family name) and are considering Elisabeth Lindley (another family name) for our next. Names I like (and think you may too):

Charlotte (obviously!)
Caroline or Carolina
Annabel
Anna Catherine
Beatrice (a tremendous name, I think)
Eve (Evie is the cutest!)
Frances (I know a little Frankie...too cute!)
Henrietta (my husband nixed this one but it's very stylish in England and the nn Hattie is adorable)
Jaqueline
Isabelle (may be too popular...most popular name chosen by Ivy League moms)
Katherine (but does the world need another Kate?)
Margaret (Greta or Maggie)
Sarah
Susannah (My friend has a little Sukie...precious)

Good luck!

I immediately thought of Margaret (nn. Maggie, Greta) when I read your post. Good luck!
