Hello there, this is my first time ever posting on iVillage, or any message board for that matter! I have been "lurking" (I think thats what you call it!) for awhile now, but I've finally decided to jump in.
Let me start by telling you a little about myself and my family. I'm 21 years old, and I've been married for over a year now. My DH and I have a 2-year-old DS, and we are expecting our second child in late August/ early September. I have always been obsessed with baby names, and I always have a list going, even when there are no babies or babies-to-be in sight! LOL
Now for names! My name is Chrysalis Andrea. For those of you who don't know, its pronounced chris-a-lis and it is the cocoon of a monarch butterfly. I believe it actually means "golden" in Greek, or possibly Latin, I can't remember. Yes, it is an odd name, and no I have never met anyone else who is named that! But I do love my name. My dad is a science teacher, so he is the one who named me. There is also a record company called Chrysalis, for the music gurus out there!
My DH's name is Lucas John. He goes by Luke. Common, but I like it! Our DS's name is Zavier LeRoy. Yes, there is a reason it is Zavier and not Xavier. I didn't want his name to be "nicknamable"...lol. However, he still gets nicknames somehow so oh well. LeRoy is my late grandfather's name on my dad's side. I am a strong believer in using family names as middle names, but slightly more uncommon names for first names. Not as uncommon as Chrysalis though! LOL Not everyone can pull off a name like mine, but I think I've done a pretty good job of it. BTW our last name is a very common surname starting with "T".
So I think that's a good background...ok now for our new daughter or son-to-be! Like I said, I always have a list going and I got mine out the minute I found out I was pregnant again! Of course, DH wouldn't even look at my lists that early! Well I finally got him to mark the ones he likes or would at least consider. I think we have our boy name finalized already, but I would like opinions anyway.
Boy name: "Quintin Charles T-----" Charles is DH's father's name, I told him we would honor his family this time if we had another boy. We would probably call him Quinn. I am going in the opposite direction this time. Before with our DS I was determined to have a name that could not be shortened. This time, I would actually prefer a name that has a cute nickname. So what does anyone think of this name? For some reason I just think it is "The One"! Last time, I wouldn't commit to Zavier's name fully until he was born...but maybe things change...
Ok girl's names are a little more difficult. I'll give you my "short list" lol and I'll star the one's DH had said he will consider. But you know, I can always persuade him...lol. Middle name will probably be Joanna, Jean, or Ramona. My late mother's name was Joanna Jean and my late grandmother's name was Ramona. I would like to honor one or both of them if we have a girl.

As you can see we have eclectic taste in names! I have more but those are our favs I think. Any suggestions beyond those? Any suggestions/opinions on the ones I have? Any and all feedback would be greatly appreciated! Sorry this is such a long post!
Thanks!
