I did not even know this board exsisted. WOW!! I am excited to see that I am not the only one with no name. I am due on April 3rd, so I have a while to go, but DH and I can't agree on anything and what we do agree on we can't name her for different reasons. SO, we are stuck. I thought I would list what we do agree on but can't name her and the names we don't agree on and then see if you have any suggestions. We have been completely through several name books and just have not found the name that stikes us as "it."

Names we agree on, but can't use: Addison, Tracyn, Peyton, Madison and Zoe

Names I like and he doesn't: Karsyn, Lily, Gracie, Paxon, Marissa, Elli, Kaydence, Journi, Olivia, Libby, Mayzie, crap the list goes on and on. He is picky.

Our last name is McKinney, so all of the Mc names are out.

Thanks for your help,
Staci

Just curious as to why you can't name the names you agree on

Addison and Madison: DH's cousin is pregnant too, due the day after me. She found out before I did that she is having a girl and annouced she is naming her Madison and calling her Madie. We had the named Addison (Addie) picked out, but now we feel it is too close to Madison. We want a name that is original, our own you know. Don't want it to seem like we are copying.

Tracyn: My DH really likes Tracyn, and I do too, but I am afraid that people will call her Tracy. Don't get me wrong I like Tracy OK, but it is not something I want her to be called. I know toooooo many Tracy's.

Peyton: One of my good friends from High School named her little girl Peyton. Again, I don't want to be a copy Cat.

Zoe: I have a Cousin named Chloe and my best friend named her daughter Chloe. I just think that it is too close. We are a very close family, so. I think it would be
different if we did not see the two Chloe's all the time, but we do.

I don't know. Am I picking at the names too much. My DH says I think too much about them. I just think a name is important and that it is a big decision.

What are your thoughts on my reasoning for not naming her these?

I agree with you, I do alot of the we can't use this name because it sounds like... or it's too close to... What kind of names does he like? Are there any he likes but you don't & then you can tell us why you don't. That way we can get a better idea of your tastes.

Cheryl,
Gavin is absolutely adorable! I love the picture of him!! My DH really has not come up with any names except for Peyton and Tracyn, which I can't use. I go home with a different name almost everyday that I either read or heard that day and he shoots them down. I like the names that end in the Long E like Sadie (can't use) Gracie (DH doesn't like) Ellie (DH doesn't like) that is how with both agreed on Addison. He likes Addison and I like Addie. But now we can't use it. I want something that is cute for now, but professional for later. I also like the names that can be a male or female. I really like Karsyn or Karsen for a girl, but DH says no it is a boys name. But to me Tracyn sounds more like a boys name then that. My cousin is naming her little girl Alexanderia and calling her Alex. I think that is so cute. So I don't know. Right now I just call her "no no" because I figure she is going to hear that a lot anyways!! LOL!! I am up for any suggestions believe me. I also don't want a name that is used all the time like Emma or Hannah. Don't get me wrong they are beautiful names, but I want something that you don't hear everyday. I guess if we are going to be this picky we may not ever find a name!! Thanks so much for help and input. You don't know how greatful I am to have some other opinions!! Staci
