New to naming needs help with boy names.

I need help with baby boy names. I never expected to be pregnant at 22, and have never spent a day in my life thinking about nursery decor, baby-proofing, parenting styles, or any of this stuff, much less BABY NAMES!!! It is going to be a boy, and I need help! Boy choices in books and online seem to be the same list repeated over and over again. My intention is to stay as far away from this list as possible without giving the kid a name that is weird. Here are my only criteria:
Nothing that starts with the letter M, because the baby's last name will be McCloud.
Nothing that can be shortened into a nickname, as a Thomas and a Jessica, my boyfriend and I feel VERY strongly about this issue.
No unisex names--must be masculine.
Would prefer Irish name, but not necessary.
Baby will probably have middle name of Emory, a family name from bf's side.
Can't be Peyton, Bryce, or Ethan b/c his cousins have those names already.
A few we like, but aren't crazy about: Chase, Ezekiel (a possible exception to nickname issue with nickname of Zeke,) Owen, Colin/Collin, Sawyer(may be too hard for me to say correctly without sounding like a hillbilly.)
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Ps. Our first daughter was a "surprise" and came just before I turned 22 (dh was 25 at the time), and I am sooo glad we had her while we were still young. When I meet other moms that are older than me, I can't help but think things like "Wow, she'll be 50 when her baby graduates high school ... I won't even be 40!" (And let me clarify that having a baby is great at any age. I just mean that I can't help but compare things like that, so I'm not trying to offend LOL). Anyway, just wanted to let you know having kids in your 20s is great, even if it may seem overwhelming at the moment. ;)

I just thought of a name you might like that I had actuually completley forgoten about. My mothers maiden name is Sawyer, which made me think of my Grandfather, (who unfortunatley I never meet.)His name was Arden which might fit your criteria. Quite masculine, not on the popular list (I dont think!!) Hard to make a nn that does't sound stupid eg: Ardy or Ard!
Just a thought - sounds good with your last name too.
Arden McLeod
Wow, lots to think about. Here are some decent names, that I don't think are too popular or trendy. And hopefully no nicknames! I am the same way. We chose Parker, because Park isn't a real name. Here are some ideas:(the ones with a star are Irish)

Like any of these? I don't THINK any of these can be shortened, and I can't imagine any of them on a girl. :>)
As far as the ones you are thinking of, I like Sawyer and Colin the best. Owen and Chase are becoming pretty popular.
Hope this helps!
Tammy- Mom to Parker Joseph
Kinley, Kaige, Simon, Griffin, Justin, Shea, Jonathan, Jack
Sorry if any of these are some you can't use.
SOrry if any of these are repeats....
Declan, Brendan, Callum are 3 names that I love and fit the Irish request (at least I think Callum is Irish). There are many great Irish names out there for boys, but those are the 3 that top my list.

How about...
Davis
Cole
Colby
Forrest
Lee

I also like Owen & Chase from your list.
Ooh, fun! You've come to the right place.
A note- Irish names are the most likely to go unisex; hardly any of them are girl-proof.
The first name that came to mind was- Grant Emory, based on your criteria. Means "great" in Irish. I have known one girl (ag3 13) with Grant as mn.
Other Irish names-
Fletcher Emory McCloud
Branden Emory McCloud
Darren Emory McCloud(means great) Have known two girls named - Daren & Daryn
Darin Emory (means precious present)
Brogan Emory McCloud(known a couple of girls)
Chay Emory McCloud
Bryan/Bryant Emory McCloud
Curran Emory McCloud (means hero)
Dylan Emory McCloud(used for girls, but rarely)
Cole Emory McCloud (for girls sometimes) "warrior"
Calder Emory McCloud (a personal fave- "call-der")
Cael Emory McCloud
Bowen Emory McCloud
Shane Emory McCloud
Others that I think are good fits for your criteria-
Rhett Emory, Luke Emory, Cade Emory, Shaw Emory, Jude Emory, Jonah Emory, Kane Emory, Adam Emory, Paul Emory, Roman Emory, Zane Emory, Ty Emory, Walker Emory, Asher Emory
Comments on your list-
Chase- Sometimes used for girls and somewhat popular, but "grows up" well with a boy/man and sounds good with Emory
Ezekiel- Zeke comes very naturally with this one, b/c it's sort of a mouthful, but wouldn't have to use the nn- you set the pace
Owen- Strong, but sort of popular, not the best fit sliding into Emory
Colin- Sometimes used for a girl. I like this name, though. Colin Emory sounds fantastic!
Sawyer- I really like this name.
Since you've never really thought about names, perhaps these tips will help you:
1. Vary the syllables. ex. one syllable fn with two syllable ln, three syllable fn with one syllable mn, etc. * A one syllable fn REALLY sounds good in your case.
2. Don't end fn/mn names, fn/ln or mn/ln the same. ex. Brady Emory/ Reed McCloud
3. Don't run same letters into each other- Graham McCloud, Abraham Emory
I was pregnant at 21 after only four months of marriage. Now ten years later, I'm a very young, hip mom to a ten year old. All my friends are just now having babies and are quite envious that I have all that behind me! Enjoy, Ginger
Looks like you've gotten some terrific ideas and tips already, so I'll just add this one: My step-brother and SIL just had a baby and they named him Braeden. It's a bit unusual but I thought it sounded really neat! Just thought I'd pass it on...
Good luck!

My Little Man. His name is Kaleb Pershing - we call him KP.
