Newbie needs HELP!

A baby names board is a FABULOUS idea! Now I can recruit opinions without giving away what my choices are to friends and family.

And trust me, we need help. We don't dare get pregnant again until we can agree on a girl's name LOL. Our dd's name is Emily Nicole and our fav boy name is Jeremiah Timothy (Timothy for my dad who has four daughters and five granddaughters -- no boys!). But we just can't find another girls' name.

My dh likes fairly simple names, but I couldn't talk him into Sylvia (love it!) or Grace (pretty but quite popular). We also had to rule out a lot of names because of relatives: Rebecca, Katheryn (too close to my name), Melissa, etc. He does like Cynthia, but "Cindy" doesn't blow my hair back. And we don't want to end up with the world's most popular name again (oops...sorry Emily).

We need HELP! *grin* TIA

Kathy

P.S. Our last name is pretty hard to match, too. It's Boeve (rhymes with movie)

Jeremiah Timothy is great!

I do think Grace is lovely even though it's popular.

Some ideas: Marissa, Helen, Abigail, Zoe, Natasha, Paige, Jocelyn, Laura, Bianca, Sophie, Isabelle, Jade, Charlotte

HI and welcome! Your boy name choice is very appealing and sounds particularly good with Emily Nicole!!

Grace is too popular, if you don't want a name as popular as Emily's. For a little sis to Emily, I'm just brimming with suggestions that I think also sound good with your last name- (Do you have ANY ideas for mn?)- Here goes- Vivian, Tess, Charlotte, Leah, Audrey, Meredith, Lillian, Sophia(is regionally popular), Beatrice, Claudia, Celeste, Noelle, Cassandra(Cass/Cassie), Camille, Celeste, Joy, Gwendolyn, Genevieve, Vanessa, Anna, Isabel, Cora, Liza, Mariah, Dana, Ava (regionally popular), Annette

I don't like for sibs to have "matchy" names but I do think it's neat if they have some connection to each other. There are some GREAT five-letter names that would fit well with Emily- Jenna, Clare, Julia (regionally popular),Maeve, Holly, Eliza, Faith, Halle

And I've always thought Sylvia is beautiful (LOVE it with Emily). Cynthia is another long-running fave of mine and I don't think she HAS to be Cindy!

Keep us posted! Ginger

Here are some suggestions that I think meet your criteria of - not as popular as Emily, but still a simple, known name that's not overly unusual - matches up well with Emily and sounds OK with Boeve (like movie)

Alyssa, Corinne, Cara, Dannah, Erica, Erin, Janna, Jenna, Jessica, Jillian, Kara, Marissa, Maura, Megan, Michelle, Paige, Rayna, Samantha, Tara.

good luck.

Thanks for all your great suggestions! I have printed a list for dh to look at...he is the one who likes really common names. (I actually wanted to name dd Jelling, pronounced Jay-ling, although I do love Emily.) As for a mn...we'll cross that bridge once we have a first name! Depending on first, I like Joy, Grace, Deanne, Deanna and Annette for mns. What do y'all think of Cynthia Annette or Sylvia Joy (yes, I'm still pushing for Sylvia!) or Julia Grace? Also, wdyto Gwenda? Read it in a book and think I like it (dh doesn't of course).

Thanks again and TIA!!!!!

Kathy and Ems

BTW, you selected some of my favs, like Alyssa and Jessica, but I have nieces with those names.

I really liked some of soccermom's suggestions...mainly Cara, Kara, Tara as they sound great with Boeve. Another was Corinne, and I really like that as Corinna (cor-ee-nah)instead. How about Corinna Elizabeth (Elizabeth is classic for DH), or even a spin on that with Elisabeth. Emily Elizabeth is very popular, so that is where the idea comes from.

Some of my other favs:

Haylee (Hailey)

Halle

Claire

Grace (yes, back in fashion, but beautiful)

Leona...another classic coming back

Lauren

Maryn

Audrey (always think of Hepburn, who was gorgeous)

Good luck!

I vote Lydia Joy! Love that it's another 5-letter name, too. That would be a great choice! Good luck! Ginger
