Hi! I'm new to this particular board! My name is Courtney, I'm 22 & in my 1st trimester. DH & I have decided that whether it's a girl or boy we will name "Shrimp" (our current name)..Aidan. I have loved this name for years it seems. I wanted a Gaelic name & Aidan means 'little fire'. So if it's a girl we are thinking Aidan Elisabeth & a boy Aidan Rooney (DH's middle name) :-p Traditionally a boys name, but I think it's cute for either.

Just wanted to introduce myself!!!

Welcome to the board, Courtney! Normally, I dislike unisex names (or I should say, in this case, boy names being used by girls), but darn it if Aidan isn't cute-sounding for a girl! All the moms of little boy Aidans will be mad at you, lol, and I understand, because I have boys, but I have to say it's cute! We'll see what others have to say. Good luck!

Hi, and welcome! I like Aidan for a girl too. Just wanted to let you know if you were interested that it actually is also used for girls, and can be spelled Aidan or Edan (which is the feminine Gaelic spelling but is still pronounced "ay-dan"). Just thought that might interest you (and you can use it against anyone who claims it should only be used for boys!). :)

I love the name for both boys or girls. Funny, I had thought of using it for a boy, but never considered it for a girl....hmmm? Actually, I just don't think it goes with Pancioli.

Thanks everyone! I don't know what it is I just can't get over Aidan. DH doesn't like any other names either ha ha Our last name is Gavin...didn't like the 'an' & 'in' together at first, but oh well... :-D I used to LOVE the name Gavin for a boy, but then I married a guy with that last name!! Oops! ha ha
