Can anyone think of another nn? We have a friend who's daughter's name is Mattie.

Thanks!

Well, Maddie is the only one I really know but I guess it depends on how you pronounce Madeline. If you pronounce it with the LYN sound at the end then I guess you could use Lynn or Lin as a NN. Or maybe you could use the EL sound in the middle and call her Elle. Or take the M off of Maddie and call her Addie.

HTH!

It's not the most cutsie nn, but my aunt goes by the nn Midge. We never really spell it out, but that's what it sounds like. Rhymes with ridge. It's the only other nn I've heard for Madeline. hth,

We have a similar problem with this name. Love the name, but my mother's beloved dog is named Maddy. :)

Here are my suggestions (some are a stretch):

Mina

Mia

Lina - not my fave, but it's an option

Mimi

Mimsie (I had a great Aunt nn Mimsie and I always thought that was cute).

Emmy

Macy (this works best if the mn or last name begins with a C)

Maisy (this works best if the mn or last name begins with an S)

I think Mina is the best option - pretty logical and very cute.

Madeline is a lovely name.

Good luck to you!

Along with all of the other nn's already given...I think you can get away with Laney as well. I think that one is adorable, it's not an obvious nn, but I think it could work.
