Well, I thought we had narrowed it down to two names for our DD (due in April). Every day I lean toward one more than the other (depends on the day which name that is). But I'm just not sure if there's a name out there I like more!

Someone suggested Chole to me, which I am liking more and more. We have chosen to go with Elise for the middle name (after my grandmother).

What do you think of Chloe? And my top two are Meredith and Violet. I thought I had decided!!

DS is Jaden - he's three.

Thanks,
Emily

I love Violet. I think that would be my vote.

I love both Meredith and Violet... Chloe is cute, but just doesn't cut it for me. I find it very cutesy and juvenile. It isn't horrible though, I just prefer the others. I like Violet best, it is gorgeous.

That is the one thing I'm thinking about Chloe - not sure if it passes the Resume test. Does it fit a 23 year old looking for a job? Too cutesy is what I'm worried about...

I really like Meredith, it's different and pretty, but not old-fashioned and trendy.
I like Violet as well, but see it more and more often nowadays.
Chloe is a pretty name, I think. I met a woman in the Army that was high-ranked and her first name was Chloe, so I don't associate it with being unprofessional.
And you know, one time on this message board, someone wanted to know people's thoughts on the name Susanne with the NN Susie, and I saw a few posters reply that Susie wouldn't pass the resume test. My name is Susie and I've never had a problem with people not taking me seriously because of that! So, I don't really believe in the "resume test", you know?
But, anyways, my pick is Meredith! Good luck and God bless!

hello!! my dh loves the name chloe-i dont. its not a bad name, but i think its too cutesy for an adult. but thats just my opinon. of your other 2 choices-id go with violet, but im biased. thats my oldest dds name-but its really unique and very pretty. with the exception of ben and jen afflects baby, i havent heard of another violet anywhere. theres none in my dds school-and my dds kindergarten teacher told her when she first met her that she hasnt had a violet....ever actually in her 15 years of teaching...jmho-good luck!

I agree that Chloe seems more juvenile than your other choices. That's definitely the impression I get. I also think of the movie Deep Impact (I think LOL), where a woman's father has left her mother for a woman half his age ... of course, named Chloe. ;) They keep calling her chlorine or Clorox -- things like that.

Meredith and Violet are both wonderful, however. I think I like Violet more with Jaden, but either would be a great choice.
