Have you every heard about syllable rules? Some one told me if your last night is one syllable (like mine) then the first name should be three and middle name two. anyone aware of these "rules"?

I've never heard the "rule" stated that specifically- just that names usually sound better if they don't all have the same number of syllables. My last name has 3 syllables and I find that 2-1-3 or 1-2-3 do sound better than 3-3-3. My daughter is 3-1-3, but her first name (Pamela) has short syllables, so I think it sounds OK.

I haven't heard the "exact" rule but I agree that there is a nice "flow" with everyones names if you keep the idea in mind.

My name is 2-2-2 (maiden and married), my DH 2-3-2, my DS is 2-1-2-2 (yes, 2 MNs) and my DD is 3-2-3-2.

GOOD LUCK
