Hi there, Jennifer. Congrats on #2!

I really like Gwendolen Ruby. That's beautiful. You're absolutly right about it being marvelous for a little girl as long as a strong adult. Excellent. Hannah & Gwen(dolen) are quite nice w/each other. You're also right that Gwendolen is a lot less frilly, & in all honesty the correct spelling. I really don't care for Rae on a girl. You should save Ray for a boy to honor Grandpa.

Thomas Nash is also very cool. Nash & Hannah work for siblings. I like it.

Great choices!

Gwendolen Ruby is absolutely stunning. :)

Love the family connection with Gwendolen, though yes, I would use the correct -len ending (and it definitely comes across as less cutesy, I agree). The -lyn misspelling just makes it seem the parents wanted it to blend in with all the other -lyn names, and since that's not the origin here (the name comes from the literal words "gwen" and "dolen"), it seems a bit silly. ;) And I LOVE Ruby for the mn. It's so spunky and feminine at the same time, and again, I really like that it has special meaning for you.

As to the boy name, I'm a little unclear on if Thomas Nash is the fn/mn combo, or if you meant you were planning on the fn Thomas and calling him Nash (obviously I'm the only one confused, but the quotes threw me ).

Thomas is a nice, classic name, though I personally prefer some of the lesser-used variants (Tamhas/Tavish or Thompson, for example), but that's simply based on personal experience. I grew up with so many Thomas/Toms, the name kind of loses it's shine for me because I can't help but associate it with so many others, KWIM? It's a nice name, however, and I'm sure it will be perfect for you if number two does turn out to be a little guy. ;)

Ok, I gotcha. ;)

I was going to say I actually prefer the flow of Nash Thomas, in that case (avoids the nearly-rhyming -as/Nash back-to-back), but then I got to the last sentence. LOL

I like both of your choices. I think Gwendolen Rae has a very nice sound and Thomas Nash is cute and spunky.

Girl:
Gwendolen (or Gwendolyn) RAE or RUBY: A beautiful choice. It is wonderful to not only see family names being used, but also nice, classy, uncommon names. I do prefer Ruby as a mn, just sounds nicer to me, but I think it boils down to who you would rather honour.

Boy:
Would Thomas Nash be his name? Or would you name him Thomas and just use Nash as a nn? I like Thomas Nash, calling him Nash, if that is what you mean. Very nice. Love family names as well, great choices.

Nice choices
