I know that a lot of people do that. For me though, I like the "convenience" of having different initials for all three of my kids. I'm lazy I guess. On the calendar I write, "V - Dr. appt. 2:30" or "B - playdate." When more than one child has the same thing (i.e. Game Boy) I take a magic marker and write a little initial on the back corner so we know whose is whose. Their backpacks (all LL Bean) are all monogrammed (no names for safety reasons). As I said before, I'm lazy and this is just easier for me.

I'm not a big fan of same initial siblings either. A lot of mail comes addressed to firstinitial, lastname and with two or more people in the hous with the same first inital, getting mail gets goofy. It's not a huge deal, but I'd at least give them different middle initial names to lessen any possible confusion later on.

I wouldn't do it personally, maybe you could reverse the names to Jade Alexis and they would still have that connection, just AJ and JA.

Love the name Adrian James BTW, excellent choice.

I wouldn't do it personally- I mark all kind of things, from coats to Christmas presents, with first initials. But it's OK if you like it. I just think it's corny in a family of 4 or more kids when they all have the same initials.

i think it is ok to do. we have thought about doing the same thing, but decided to maybe swap the initials. my dd's name is alyssa claire and we always have liked the name aiden cade. not sure, but could you swap both names you like to be jade alexis? if not, go for the name you love regardless of initials. :)

I personally would probably not do it, but it's fine if you want to. I have a friend with an Alexis Kay and an Austin Kyle. By the way, you have great taste in names!

to me, there's nothing wrong with that. years ago I knew several families who did that, it seems to have gotten less common recently, but if that's the name you like I think it's fine.
