I also really like Reagan/Regan just not sure how other people would think of it.
Do you automatically think of the president or do you think it's a good name for a girl?

I was worried that Raelyn was too close to kaitlyn and when I said them out loud
together it doesn't come out with a nice flow lol that and going that route I would
be setting myself up for an even smaller name box if I ever had another girl. I already
did that with ending in n lol

TIA for any opinions
Robin :)

I personally love Reagan. I think it's so cute for a girl and wanted to use it, but EVERYONE pointed out that it's the name of the little girl in the Exorcist. The association really doesn't bother me, but we decided to go with something else. I think it's a beautiful name, and if you love it, use it.

I like the sound of Reagan a lot, BUT I think immediately of the former President (who I detest...). I grew up in a VERY politically active conservative family and knew MANY family friends with daughters named Reagan (or who planned to use it if they had a daughter). It's quite popular in ultra-conservative circles, so when I hear it, I usually assume immediately that the parents are staunch Republicans. I'd prefer Megan, Tegan or Teagan.

I actually love Reagan, and considered it briefly with my first pregnancy. We decided against it because even though we aren't staunch Republicans or anything, my parents ARE (and I couldn't bear the thought that they WOULD associate it with the president). However, if I met a little girl named Reagan, I wouldn't assume the name was political or related to the president in any way -- unless of course I knew the family was very politically motivated, but that generally wouldn't be my first thought.

FWIW, I think any of Annie's suggestions -- Megan, Tegan or Teagan -- would work well with your other children, and might be great alternatives for you if the political associations is a concern. I would also add Tierney, especially if you want to avoid another N ending.

I really like Reagan. I have considered using it a couple of times as a middle name.

I think of Shakespeare first (King Lear) and love that name.

I think it's a great name. My husband has a friend named Regan, but it is pronounced Ree-gan, not Ray-gun like the former president. I never think of President Reagan when I hear her name.

If you spelled it Reagan, I would

I definitely agree about the spelling. It might not help when hearing it, but if I saw it written as Regan, I wouldn't connect it to the President.
