and everywere but here , what people think about the name "Lotta". I am from Germany and there it is pronounced with a strong "T" in the middle, as if you would say a"tt"ention and not a soft double "D".
I have heard a lot of "lodda..." jokes, but I still love the name..
Would I do my daughter much harm, in giving her this name?

Amelie Rose and Annika Marie and my favorite Lotta Marie. Our last name is Anton.

I think that if you love that name than go for it. IMO I think that the name will be pronounced "Lodda" by people who don't know her as "Lotta" Especially if you live in the mid-west like I do, no one pronounces words right...lol. If you think about it she won't be the only one who's name will be mispronounced and she won't be the last. And I wouldn't worry about other kids making fun of her because lets face it kids can be cruel and they will make fun of a kid with a simple name like Tom or Jill. Just teach her to be strong and it won't bother her. My name is Annie and I was called Annie Orphan, Annie Get Your Gun, Annie-Fanny you name it, and it never bothered me and after a while it gets so old that it will never bother you.
If you feel that Lotta is the right name then use it! Good luck!!
Andi
Aside from the "lotta" jokes and mispronunciation, I don't care for Lotta Anton.
