Whew, DH and I finally decided on our top two names this afternoon. This was so much harder than with my other two!
Anyways, here goes...

Adrienne Skye
Ashley Nicole

Sisters are Brooklyn (Brooke) Mackenzie and Katie Danielle and we have a one syllable last name.

Honest (but nice) opinions please! Thank you all so much!!!

Laura

Also, what do you all think of the idea of going into the hospital with two names and seeing which one better suits your baby? Does it actually work that way, or do you end up picking your favorite anyway? If anyone has any experience with this let me know. Thanks!

with ds we had 2 name options, moses or finnigan. i was IN LOVE WITH the name finnigan, but when i saw my baby i knew instantly that he was a moses. i have never wished i had named him my original #1 choice. so in my experience it actually does work.

oh, and i like Adrienne Skye much more then Ashley. good luck!

I like Adrienne Skye the best, mostly because I know too many Ashleys. Great choice.

Oh, no. I just realized how similar ashley nicole is to anna nicole and ashley nicole simpson! Did anyone else think of that or am I being overly paranoid? Thanks.

Unless you would regularly call her "Ashley Nicole," as opposed to simply Ashley or by a nickname, then I don't think that you'd have to worry about "Anna Nicole," etc. That said, I prefer Adrienne, mostly because Ashley is so popular.

I have no experience with bringing multiple names to the hospital, but because of the many great ideas I've gotten from people on this board (thanks, all!), my husband and I will be going in with a list of 10 names, and I will choose the one that I think fits her best when I see her. (Since he got to choose her last name, I get to choose her first.) The names all come from a common source, so to speak, but they are all very different from each other, so I'm hoping that one will really jump out at me when I hold her. If not, I'll just have to bite the bullet and pick one. Either way, I think it will be fun.

I love the name Adrienne, but prefer the sp Adrian. Skye is not really my style, but I think it sounds good with Adrienne! Ashley seems a little dated to me, but is a good name, and Nicole, well I am slightly biased as it is my middle name.

Adrienne Nicole gets my vote!

FWIW, Adrian is generally the male spelling, Adrienne is the female spelling so I'd stick with that.

I definitely think the idea of going to the hospital works best. She might coming out looking like an Adrienne, or like an Ashley. Both names are nice, but Ashley seems a bit dated (especially with Nicole as a mn). I love Adrienne.

Adrienne Skye is my favorite of the two combos, but I think that Ashley Nicole goes better with your two daughters. Brooke, Katie and Ashley are a good sibling set even though I think it is all together too trendy. I think that Brooke, Katie and Adrienne go okay, but I would definatly pick Adrienne Skye because I don't like the whole trendy thing. There are way too many Ashleys in the world today.
