One of the worst ...

We were at my grandparents' for dinner and my grandfather came in holding the paper and chuckling. He handed it to me and said "check out the baby names." First one listed was ...

Jermanydragonfire Jayden Jordan Hineline. Honest. ;) You should've seen that fn in the announcement -- they had to hyphenate it after Jermany and then stretched -dragonfire out to fill out it's own line. It was hilarious. Jermanydragonfire's siblings were Arrayan, Evan, Justin, Journey and Jreed (guess they really like Js ... little Evan got off so easy!).

The other babies (just fn and mn) were:

Margaret Mary (brothers William III and Regan)
Jasmine Grace (sibs Caspian Anthony Paul and Lennon Jakob Edward)
Sydney Arlene (sisters Alison and Emily)
John Manning IV
Jackson Godown
Adam John (sibs Alexa and Drew)
Alysa Marie (twin brothers Ean and Nicholas)
Sophia Anneliese (sister Liana V.)
Andrew Ross
Chase Ryan
Brooklyn Shelly
Chloe May

Enjoy!

*I tried to edit this because the "evil grin" isn't a grin, so much as the devil, but no luck. ;) Oh, well. You get the idea. LOL

WHAT THE H*** kinda name is that! Jermanydragonfire! No offense to anyone but these people must have been messed up on some kinda drug! OMGOSH! I can't believe that name!

Margaret Mary (brothers William III and Regan)-NMS but I really like Regan for a girl!
Jasmine Grace (sibs Caspian Anthony Paul and Lennon Jakob Edward)-also NMS
Sydney Arlene (sisters Alison and Emily)-Its ok
John Manning IV-very nice, kinda plain but a million times better than Jermanydragonfire!
Jackson Godown-Jackson is ok, insanely popular though...Godown um not good all I see its lots of teasing!
Adam John (sibs Alexa and Drew)-nms but ok
Alysa Marie (twin brothers Ean and Nicholas)-I've heard it before
Sophia Anneliese (sister Liana V.)I love Sophia!
Andrew Ross-very nice
Chase Ryan-I love this!

I thought the same thing regarding "Godown." I'm assuming -- no, hoping! -- this is pronounced God-own or Gowd-own or pretty much anything other than "Go down." ROFL Probably a family surname, but an unfortunate one. ;)

Wow. That's just...wow. I don't even know what to say about that. The name is so ridiculous I can't even comment on it. I'm very intrigued by the fact that even with a name that long he has TWO middle names and they BOTH are trendy/popular and start with J. It's like they are having a contest to use as many J names as possible whether they go together at all or not. Evan is nice, Justin is nice. The others made me cringe a little (okay, Jreed made me cringe a lot) and then all hades broke loose with this baby. Wow.

Aside from the fact that it's hilarious, it reminded me of the puritans who used to give their kids names like Repentsinnerslestyedieandburninafieryhell. Maybe this will be a new trend and people will just start stringing random words together to make names. Like Reddogstilleto or Hotcowblade. Who knows what they will come up with next! At least they can be reasonably sure he will not have to be Jermanydragonfire H. in his kindergarden classroom.

As for the others....

Margaret Mary (brothers William III and Regan) -- I love this. Both are family names for me, and they both are on my long list. I'm really in love with Mary right now. Margaret is a family name on both sides and I was very nearly Megan as a way of carrying it on without adding to the confusion of tons of Margarets in my family. But Megan Anne didn't work and my mom was set on Anne, so Megan became Meredith. Love William, though I could do without the III thing. I love family names, but Jrs, etc are nms. I'm guessing Regan is a family name. Otherwise it seems very out of place.
Jasmine Grace (sibs Caspian Anthony Paul and Lennon Jakob Edward) -- Not a fan of Jasmine at all. I've seen one too many exotic dancers with this as a stage name. So I think of that plus the Disney movie, which is a weird dichotomy. I love Caspian and Lennon is pretty cool. I'm liking Edward a lot right now. The rest are all standard: fine but nothing exciting.
Sydney Arlene (sisters Alison and Emily) -- This set goes together pretty well. I'm not a fan of Sydney. I loved Emily before the popularity surge, now I wouldn't touch it with a ten-foot pole. I love Alison, even though I'll never use it.
John Manning IV -- Love this, but again Jrs are nms. (And IV? Really? Must it go on forever?) I wonder what they'll call him.
Jackson Godown -- meh. So so so sick of Jackson. I'm guessing (hoping)Godown is a family name. Regardless, it's sort of unfortunate. And while I love using family surnames, I dislike combinations of two surnames. Then the kid winds up with three surnames and that's just overkill, imo. Couldn't he have been John Godown nn Jack?
Adam John (sibs Alexa and Drew) -- I wonder if Drew is Andrew. I like Andrew nn Drew a lot. I love Adam John. I hate Alexa/Alexis -- it's one of my least favorite names. The As seem like a bit of overkill. (And if Drew is NOT short for Andrew, that just seems weird in this case.)
Alysa Marie (twin brothers Ean and Nicholas) -- Alysa? Is that Alyssa or Elisa? I'm not sure what that's supposed to be. Either is fine. Not my favorite, but nice. (I'd prefer the simplicity of Alice, which I ADORE.) In any case, here is case in point for confusing kre8tiv spellings. I wouldn't know how to pronounce this thanks to the spelling. Ean? Ouch. I adore Ian and Iain is on my Irish/Scottish list. Nicholas is fine. (He got off easy with the spellings.)
Sophia Anneliese (sister Liana V.) -- lovely. A bit too popular for my taste, but I adore Sophia. It was in my top five until it was in everyone else's top five as well. I don't really get the Anneliese frenzy, bit it's pretty.
Andrew Ross -- I like this a lot. Ross is underused and great.
Chase Ryan -- I strongly dislike Chase. It's a cute nickname or pet name, but doesn't seem appropriate for a grown man. Ryan is popular, but I adore it. I like it as a middle name (which is where I put surnames, which I still consider Ryan to be despite its popularity)
Brooklyn Shelly -- ew. Sorry, this one is awful. I dislike both names and don't like them together.
Chloe May -- I think Chloe is cute. It's nms, but I like it for other people. I adore Mae as a middle name (though I prefer this spelling).

Oh, that's horrible. Poor kid. Evan, Justin, & Journey are all perfectly acceptable. Arrayan is bad, but tolerable. Jreed doesn't even make sense, & Jermanydragonfire Jayden Jordan Hineline is a travesty.

Anyway, here are my thoughts on the other names:

Margaret Mary (brothers William III and Regan)-That's nms, & a tad repetitive. I love William. Regan is nms, but actually nice to see on a boy.

Jasmine Grace (sibs Caspian Anthony Paul and Lennon Jakob Edward)-That's okay. I really like her brothers' names though. Caspian is so cool!

Sydney Arlene (sisters Alison and Emily)-That's nms. Alison & Emily are fine.

John Manning IV-That's not bad.

Jackson Godown-That's nms.

Adam John (sibs Alexa and Drew)-Nice. I don't care for Alexa, but I love Drew & Adam for brothers.

Alysa Marie (twin brothers Ean and Nicholas)-I'd be so much happier if they'd stick an extra 's' in there. It's still pretty though. I like her brothers' names too, although would prefer Ian & Nicolas. I'm picky.

Sophia Anneliese (sister Liana V.)-Pretty. I just love Liana too. Great sister pair! I hope that the V. stands for Violet.

Andrew Ross-I love it. Very nice.

Chase Ryan-Nice.

Brooklyn Shelly-Ugh, I dont' care for that at all.

Chloe May-I usually am not a fan of Chloe, but this is a sweet combination.

Thanks for sharing!

Glad someone else loves Caspian, Annie. ;) It's always been a guilty pleasure of mine.

The rest of your comments pretty much mirrored my own (since I didn't reply to my own post LOL), but I have to say I loved you strung-together word names ... Reddogstilleto! If I ever have another child I might put this on my "discuss with dh" list just to see his reaction. What could be more fun? hehe

Incidentally, my mother might love Repentsinnerslestyedieandburninafieryhell, but I don't know. A bit too vague, do you think? At least we could call her "Ellie." ROFL

You can't call her Ellie! NNs don't come from the END of the name, they have to come from the beginning! You'll just have to call her Repent. ;)
