I can't believe it, but we only have about 2 weeks until the baby is here!

You've got a great list here! Hope that your last 2 weeks go very smoothly, btw.

Amelia Quay D_____
(we probably wouldn't use a nn)- Amelia has never been one of my faves for some reason. It's nice enough, but just not my pick. I do think it is rising pretty quickly in popularity, which it seems like you don't want. It is a very classy choice though.

Eleanor Quay D_____
(we like nn Ellie, but would probably call her Eleanor most of the time)- I think I like Eleanor with this mn better (the 1-syllable is nice to balance the fn and ln). Eleanor is lovely, IMO. I do think it will get more popular since Ellie has become such a hot nn, but I don't think it will be too bad, espcially if you call her Eleanor most of the time. I also like the nn Nora. It is only at #265 right now, and I can't see it in the top 30 at all.

Eleanor Andrews D_____- see above

Emilia Quay D_____
(we think Em is cute, but probably wouldn't use a nn)- I really like Emilia (I don't know why I prefer it over Amelia). Very pretty! The only concern that I would have is that the uber-popular Emma and Emily are so similar.

Isabelle Andrews D_____
(we might use Izzy at home, but only occasionally)- Such a pretty name also! Isabelle is significantly less popular than Isabella, but the extreme popularity of Isabella would bother me, honestly. Also, I prefer the Isabel spelling.

Margaret Quay D_____
(we probably wouldn't use a nn)- Timeless and classic! I do not think popularity will be a real concern here, similar to Eleanor. Probably will rise, but won't get super popular.

I think overall it depends on how you feel about popularity. Though Emilia and Isabelle are slightly different than their ridiculously popular counterparts (Emily, Emma; Isabella) it might still bother you. I couldn't think of any teasing problems with any of these.

My top picks from your list are:
1- Eleanor
2- Emilia (even with the popularity concerns- sooo lovely)
3- Margaret

I don't think you can go wrong, all these names are really nice choices! Just go with your heart. Can't wait to see what you decide when the baby arrives!

Amelia Quay D_____
(we probably wouldn't use a nn)
Love Amelia, love Quat (pretty, and a great family name) This is my favourite of the list!

Eleanor Quay D_____
(we like nn Ellie, but would probably call her Eleanor most of the time)
Cute, I like this, but prefr Amelia (a but more spunky and fresh)

Eleanor Andrews D_____
Prefer Quay

Emilia Quay D_____
(we think Em is cute, but probably wouldn't use a nn)
I like the Amelia spelling better, I pronounce them pretty much the same

Isabelle Andrews D_____
(we might use Izzy at home, but only occasionally)
Okay, a lot more popular that the other choices

Margaret Quay D_____
(we probably wouldn't use a nn)
I like Margaret a lot, but most of the appeal is from the great nn's. On its own, it is nice, but not great, KWIM?

HTH, I like Amelia best!

I'm assuming Quay is pronounced Kay?

Amelia Quay D_____
(we probably wouldn't use a nn)
***I love Amelia. I am hearing it a bit more often, and it is in the top 100 now, if that would bother you. You might like the similar Amalia (MAH instead of MEE middle sound).

Eleanor Quay D_____
(we like nn Ellie, but would probably call her Eleanor most of the time)
***Love Eleanor, though I couldn't resist the nn Nora (Ellie seems very over-used). Really any name with the nn Ellie will seem popular, but since you'd call her by her full name much of the time it's fine.

Eleanor Andrews D_____
***I'd have to know how Quay is being pronounced to comment on the mns. Andrews works, though.

Emilia Quay D_____
(we think Em is cute, but probably wouldn't use a nn)
***I like Millie as a nn here, and I actually love Emilia. Plus, the slight difference in spelling/pronunciation/origin will help set her apart from any other Amelias a bit (visually, at the very least), should it continue to rise. You may also like Emeline.

Isabelle Andrews D_____
(we might use Izzy at home, but only occasionally)
***With Isabella in the top 10, this may seem too popular/common for you. I MUCH prefer Isadora, nn Izzy. Just a thought. ;)

Margaret Quay D_____
(we probably wouldn't use a nn)
***I like Margaret a lot, but really love the many nn options here, so I'm kind of so-so on this combo for you ... only because I'd be tempted to use a nn. LOL

You have great taste, btw. Lovely list. ;)

HTH

Thanks for your reply!

Quay is actually pronounced Kway.

I too love Millie as a nn for Emilia, but unfortunately I can't get dh on board - same goes for Emeline/Emmeline.

I prefer Eleanor or Margaret for you, mn Quay. Isabelle is very popular. Emilia is nice but not as distinctive as Eleanor (I prefer this sp to Amelia by a mile).

I like Emilia and Margaret. (I think Emilia gives a slightly different pronunciation that Amelia, and I like Emilia a touch better).

AJ, enjoying life with C.
