My DH and I have been thinking about names for a while and found it really hard to settle on fn and mn for our baby.

Not sure what sex is, so we've had to go with one set of names for each. Its been really hard to find names that were unique, but not too out there if you know what i mean. What do you think?

Girl: WINTER LILY

Boy: JAYDEN ISAAC

Thanks.

I ADORE your middle name selections. Lily and Issac are both great.
Winter Lily just sounds too much like a flower. And Jayden, although a nice name, hits the major -ayden trend that has made those names unbearable for me. Aiden, Hayden, Braden, Jayden, Caden, Zaden...it just doesn't seem to stop!

My mom almost named me Winter. It is not a name I could associate with, personally. I'm glad she went with Courtney instead. Maybe because I live in Florida and don't know what winter is?? LOL

The ladies on this board are great at coming up with suggestions, so keep an open mind and maybe you'll find the perfect name for you!

I agree with the PP- your mn's are great! Isaac is one of my favourite names right now, it is so strong, masculine, and not very common. Lily is gorgeous and sweet, and although it is rising really quickly in popularity, that doesn't really matter as a mn.

Winter is not really my style at all, but then, I don't like word names in general. I just wouldn't really like ot be named after a season... I mean, what if she ends up HATING winter? I would find a name without such a strong association. Maybe something like:

Annika Lily

Calista Lily

Talia Lily

Delia Lily

Faye Lily

Maya Lily

Aurora Lily

Aurelia Lily

Alba (wouldn't use Lily with Alba... maybe Alba Celeste)

Ember Simone

Carlen Faye

As for Jayden, I'm sorry but I am SOOOOOOOOOooo tired of -aden names. I honestly cringe every time I hear one. I woudl quickly nix this off the list. Why not just go with Isaac? It is gorgeous.

Malachi Isaac

Nathaniel Isaac

Seth Isaac

Noah Isaac

Dylan Isaac

Asher Isaac

Isaac Isaiah

Isaac Elijah

HTH, let me know your thought

I love Lily, but Winter is not my style. Also - Jayden is not my style and seems to be rather popular.

I agree that Winter Lily sounds like a flower, I would avoid this name. Have you considered Calla Winter?

I also agree that Jayden will sound very dated in 10 years. What about Cade Isaac or Ty Isaac?

Good luck,

I agree with the poster who said she loved the middle names but not as much the first names. Jayden is so played out. Beautiful name, but SOOOO common now. Winter lily sounds a little hokey to me, forgive me for saying so. I would take the Lily part of the name and match it to somehting else, as well as doing the same thing for Isaac.

Good luck with everything! I know how hard it is. I'm a mess with potential names!!!

I agree. But, I like the name Winter and had a friend who had this name-very cool girl. Anyway, you said you are looking for something unique but not too far out there, Jayden is SO popular!

Thank you.

After searching for our favourite names and endless debates between myself and DH, its nice to know that there is someone else on this planet that likes them!

Please continue posting poitive comments on this board. There are too many negative ones, and yours was a joy to recieve.

Tzygani,

You asked for people's opinions and I think they were trying to give them to you as nicely as they could. If these are the names you love - great! Congrats to you on your decision. BUT...if you post for opinions, then opinions is what you will get here. They aren't always going to be positive. I know for me, I come here and ask aobut names I'm thinking of becuase I'm interested in what the general population (more or less) thinks and how they react. If everyone here said they didn't like a name I liked, I might take that into account but it wouldn't make me toss the name. No one was trying to put you or your choices down - just be honest in THEIR opinion. Good luck to you!
