I need some suggestions on a girl's name. I was thinking of Jenaya (pronounced ja-ni(long i sound)-yuh). I have no clue on what middle name would sound nice with that. Our last name is Davis.

What do you think? Any suggestions would be helpful

Thanks

I think it's beautiful. You will probably be correcting people a lot with the long I sound, and I don't know if there's a better way to spell it to reflect the pronunciation, but I still think it's very pretty.

I think lots of middle names would sound great with it, but a one-syllable one sounds best to my ears.

Some suggestions:
Rose
Grace
May/Mae
Love
Faith
Reese

Sorry I'm not feeling very creative today, but maybe that will give you a start!

Jenaya Marie
Jenaya Lynn
Jenaya Hope
Jenaya Nicole

That is all I can think of right now!

when I looked at it, before I went on to read your pronunciation, I saw -Ja-NAY-ah - with a LONG A, not a Long I

maybe because I know two Jenaia's pronounced that way - Ja-NAY-ah.

I don't like the pronunciatin Jen-EYE-ah as much anyway. but if you really want it I think you should spell it in a way that people will see it as being pronounced with a Long I

maybe Jeniyah - or Jenyah - I realize the English language is very weird sometimes and there are probably some words or names with an AYA in them where it's pronounced with a long I, but with Jenaya as an unfamiliar name I don't think people will see it that way.

good luck

I agree that one syllables sound best. Rose came to my mind first. How about Rae or Kay?

Hmm, I can't think of another name with AYA that has an "I" pronunciation. Where did you get the spelling? Can you simply change it to Jeniya to avoid the confusion? Good luck!

I agree that you should change the spelling. I too thought it was Jen-a-ah, and not with an I. You're going to have to correct people all the time. J

Maya and Kaya are pronounced with long "i" sounds for the "ay", so I guess the spelling makes sense in reference to those, but since it's an unfamiliar name, I also would have pronounced it with a long "a" sound.
