Hi All, I am pregnant with our 2nd and last (probably) child. Another girl! We are thrilled. Please give me your advice on which name below you like or totally hate.

I love the name Mia- it is so sweet and spunky. I LOVE Alice (both as a first name or mn). I find it very spunky as well. I do find Michael very masculine and don't love it on a girl, but if has meaning then I guess it's not awful. I would rather see a name that has some type of family meaning used rather than one that doesn't, even if it's a boy's name. However, I LOVE Alice.

Reese- Adorable

Addison- Trendy, boring, masculine. Now if I saw Addison Michael I would assume boy for sure. -son means "son of". Adeline, Adele, Adelyn or Adelia would be *much* better.

Summer- Makes me think "dumb blonde"- not sure why.

Edan/Eden- Eden is a much better spelling. Not a huge fan, but it's okay.

Names I like with Mia...

Scarlett

Delia

Claire

Zoe

Chloe

Jocelyn

Brynn

Ruby

Violet

Faye

Eloise nn Ellie

Pearl

Callie

Juliet

Thanks for the reply, To clarify: Michael is my husband's name (if we had a boy it would have been a Michael III). We both loved Michael for a boy and since this is our last baby, even though a girl we thought that might be cute.

I don't find Michael silly, at all, as a middle name.

I really like the name Eden.

Would you be willing to use Michaela or Michelle as the middle name instead of Michael? Michael is very masculine. I love Alice, though.

Reese: very spunky and cute... great with Mia

Addison: too trendy

Summer: Okay, but seems kind of boring with Mia

Eden: nms

The combos I like the best would be Reese Michaela (I wouldn't do Reese Michael, since Reese can also be used as a boys name) or Summer Alice.

Some other ideas for fn:

Lilah
Chloe
Phoebe
Brynn
Laine

Have you thought of Michaela, the feminine form of Michael, for the MN?

My sister had a baby on my brother Mark's

I actually know a girl named Michael (and it's a biblical girls name), but it's spelled Michal.

Actually, Michael and Michal are two different names--Michael is pronounced in the familiar fashion and means "who is like God?" I've always heard Michal is pronounced mee-chal (at least in Hebrew...I'm sure as Americans we can bollocks it up) and it is a Hebrew word meaning "brook."
