Hello All!

I come here every now and then when I daydream about the future. Recently I was talking with my sister-in-law (not expecting - she's a dreamer too) about baby names and discovered that she really liked a girls' name on our list...and my cousin who is expecting is using a name on our list too. Our list grows smaller as our friends/family have children. I have searched the databases but everything that I have come up with someone has had something to say about it - and after long thoughts about it I feel the same way. Also, there are many that are being or soon will be used...there is little that my dh and I agree on fully - but he's mentioned that this name is okay...I wanted opinion(s) on it. I really like it and it sounds really great with my fil's middle name (spelling changed though from Ray to Rae) - he's very ill and we want to honor him by using his mn. What do you think? Which spelling do you prefer?

Macyn Rae A.
Maceyn Rae A.

Thanks in advance! Congrats and Best Wishes to you all!

So this is for a girl? I don't like Macyn in any form on a girl. To me, Mason is reserved for boys. And I prefer it spelled Mason.

I do, however, like the name Ray/Rae/Raymond. It's nice that you are thinking of honoring a family member with a version of their name.

Crystal

*editing to add* I love the name Macy for a girl.

Macyn/Maceyn is not really my style (I prefer Macy), but I think that Macyn looks much nicer. Maceyn makes me do a double take before I try to pronounce it, and it has the word "mace" in it, which isn't a nice association.

Good luck when the time comes, and you never know, you might find another perfect name by then. :-)

Thanks for responding! I think I am changing the spelling again though...Maecyn is cute too and looks a little more feminine. Just have to decide which one I like better Macyn Rae or Maecyn Rae...

I still like Macyn better. Maecyn looks a little confusing, and the double "ae" in Maecyn Rae doesn't appeal to me. That's JMO, though. Good luck!
