Hello to all,
My husband is Harrison Gill Wehner III and really is stuck on continuing the tradition with Harrison Gill Wehner IV if our baby-to-be (due April 06) is a boy.
I think it's confusing to have so many Harrisons in the family (his Dad blessedly is still around) and so we are looking for a good nickname.
Harry is an obvious choice, but our last name is often mispronounced as "Weiner" - you get the picture!!! "Gill" is just too fishy.
We have two daughters already, Hadley and Meriel. What do people think about "Reece" or "Reese" as a nickname for Harrison? Is it too much of a stretch? Too feminine sounding? Any other suggestions?
I am trying to get him to compromise on the middle name and call the kid that (I just LOVE the name Tate) but don't think he'll go for it... and I feel I can't really deny him this if it is so important to him.
Thanks for reading and for any feedback.
Have great days!

I like the idea of Reece. With this spelling, it's still very masculine. (Reese is very popular among girls, but Reece and Rhys remain popular with boys.) I tried to think

Wow, I can understand your objection to "harry"!!! That would be awful!!! lol
My suggestion would be to use Harris.
I also agree with the poster who mentioned the number nicknames. I knew a boy once who was the III and went by Trey as in the Spanish "tres" for there. I am not sure how that would work for four. The German number is Vier "feer"
And that's kind of funny about the Harry Wehner, LOL. So I agree, definetly don't go with Harry.
Hi there. Congrats on your third baby!
I think that too many of one name in a family is kind of a pain too, but at least you're lucky that Harrison is such a handsome name. I totally agree w/you about the 'Harry' issue though w/your ln, LOL. That's a shame, but sort of funny! Harry is too close to Hadley anyway, imo.
I think that Reece could work as a nn for Harrison. It's a bit of a stretch, but it's a great name. What do you think about Hank maybe as a nn? That could work. Maybe Harris, or Hal? I really like Harris.
Hope this helps!
You asked for opinions, so even though it is a repeat of what has already been said, I thought I'd chime in as well. Like the previous post, I think you are lucky that at least the family name is a GREAT one like Harrison- very handsome. Is there a reason you were not thinking of simply using Harris as a nn?
You gave me a good laugh, but yes, please avoid Harry.
Best wishes to you and your family.
