Hey ladies.
I'm not expecting or anything at all, but just wanted a few opininos on the names that I'm loving enough to use if there were to be someone to name. Give me your thoughts on what you think of it, plus if you think any of these are looking like they're about to skyrocket in popularity.
Aniel/Ani-Is this a legit name? I really just love Ani.
Adeline-Although I would actually use this since Addison is so obnoxiously popular.
Eloise
Elodie
Estella
Felicity
Guinevere
Madeline/Maisie-I do love just Madeline, but really dislike Maddie. Maisie is so sweet, & would probably side-steph the threat of Maddie if used everyday, right?
Marigold/Maisie-I really don't love Mari or Goldie, so Maisie would side step those here too. Marigold is so lovely though!
Alec
Avram/Avey
Curtis
Callum
Charlie-I know that this is already sort of popular, but it's so cute. Okay as a full name?
Henry/Hank-Yeah, I know that this is popular. I'm loving Hank lately though, & don't think that that nn is popular, is it?
Isaac
Julian
Max(field/imilian)-I know that Max is common too. Do you like Maxfield or Maximilian?
Phineas/Finney-This threat of Finn becoming a trend is upsetting. I've been in love w/Phineas for 25 year or so, LOL.
Tobias
Thanks a lot!

Aniel/Ani-Is this a legit name? I really just love Ani.
***Aniela is a real name. Are you saying Ani like the beginning of this -- which I guess would be ahn-ee, as Aniela is ahn-YE-la -- or just like Annie?? If it's Annie, there are plenty of other names that lend themselves to that nn.
Adeline-Although I would actually use this since Addison is so obnoxiously popular.
***I'm not sure if you're saying you wouldn't use Adeline because of the popularity of Addison, but as long as you avoid the nn Addie, you're pretty safe. Adeline with the nn Ada or Della, for example, doesn't resemble Addison/Addie in my mind in the least.
Eloise
***love it! Fits in with other old-fashioned type names without being at risk of becoming too common or popular itself. Very nice.
Elodie
***I think you'd have some pronunciation problems in the US, with many trying to pronounce this like the end of Melody, KWIM? It is a nice name, however, if correcting people won't bother you. You may also like Leonie.
Estella
***I think I slightly prefer either Estelle or Stella (at least tonight ), but this is a lovely name, in any case. Very spunky.
Felicity
***beautiful.
Guinevere
***ditto. ;) I also love Gwyneth and Gwendolen.
Madeline/Maisie-I do love just Madeline, but really dislike Maddie. Maisie is so sweet, & would probably side-steph the threat of Maddie if used everyday, right?
***yes! I love that you'd avoid the overly-popular Maddie in favor of a less-common nn, and Maisie definitely works. I also like Maggie.
Marigold/Maisie-I really don't love Mari or Goldie, so Maisie would side step those here too. Marigold is so lovely though!
***I like Mari/Mary, but if you don't, I actually prefer Maggie to Maisie here (just seems to make even more sense with MAriGold, if you KWIM).
Alec
***this is actually pretty popular, by association if nothing else. I know a few little Alecs, and their mothers are so annoyed by all the people that misread or mishear it as Alex. The Alex- names being so popular for both genders, this one would just be too common a choice for me.
Avram/Avey
***I would almost definitely expect a little Avram to be Jewish. If you're not, that's ok, but you should be aware of the association. If Avey would be pronounced with a long A, it reminds me of Ava, which is quite popular for girls. On the other hand, if it's a short A, it sounds almost exactly like Abby ... also very popular for girls. Just some things to be aware of. FWIW, I don't have that same impression of Abram (nn Bram is also nice).
Curtis
***that's nice.
Callum
***love it ;)
Charlie-I know that this is already sort of popular, but it's so cute. Okay as a full name?
***I would never use Charlie as a full name, since he won't be six forever (not that Charlie doesn't work as a nn on an adult as well, but he might want something more adult to use professionally, KWIM?). Even if you don't call him Charles (or some other variation) on a daily basis, it still gives him the option if he wants it. That said, I do think Charlie is adorable for a little boy, though it is popular (in the 50s, if that bothers you).
Henry/Hank-Yeah, I know that this is popular. I'm loving Hank lately though, & don't think that that nn is popular, is it?
***Henry isn't as popular as Charles, if that helps (not quite in the top 100 yet). Every baby Henry I've heard of lately is called Hank, though (if they use a nn), so I do think it's a popular nn choice. I've yet to hear of a baby Henry called Hal, Harry, Hugh, Enzo, Rico, etc.
Isaac
***top 50, but a great name.
Julian
***top 75, but I really don't hear it that often. I like it.
Max(field/imilian)-I know that Max is common too. Do you like Maxfield or Maximilian?
***sorry. While I like Max (though it is quite common, as you said), Maxfield sounds like a brand name and Maximilian has always struck me as a bit too pretentious. I'd like something like Madoc, nn Mac, much more.
Phineas/Finney-This threat of Finn becoming a trend is upsetting. I've been in love w/Phineas for 25 year or so, LOL.
***I also love both Phineas and Finn, but don't think there's a threat of a trend here. It's a name you might hear more on name boards or in more "sophisticated" naming circles (if you KWIM), but that doesn't mean the general public is clamoring all over it. ;) Finn itself is the only such name I can think of that's even IN the top 1000 (it's only 537) -- I know Phineas, Finnian and Findlay/Findley aren't -- so this one really isn't popular or common in the least.
Tobias
***very nice, and barely in the top 500.
HTH :)

Thanks for your thoughts!
I'm saying Ani like Ah-nee.
Okay...I feel stupid. How is Elodie pronounced properly?
I bet that moms to Alec do get really annoyed w/the Alex thing. It's definitly something to worry about. I just think that Alec is so handsome.
Yeah, I am saying Avey w/a long 'a'. It's too bad that it's so close to Ava. Our ln isn't Jewish, but my side of the family is if that helps, LOL.
I'm not against Charles nn Charlie. I like Charles.
You're welcome. You have a nice list, btw. ;)
I'm saying Ani like Ah-nee.
*** in that case, you may also like Annelise or Annika (both beginnings are pronounced "ahn," so the nn Ani makes perfect sense.
Okay...I feel stupid. How is Elodie pronounced properly?
*** I'm bad at typing out pronunciations (though I'm getting better! LOL), so I looked it up on BTN and it's ay-lo-DEE (emphasis on the end syllable), rather than EL-ah-dee (Melody without the M). ;)
Yeah, I am saying Avey w/a long 'a'. It's too bad that it's so close to Ava. Our ln isn't Jewish, but my side of the family is if that helps, LOL.
*** You may also like Avery, in that case.
I'm not against Charles nn Charlie. I like Charles.
*** I agree. Charles is a nice, classic given name, and Charlie is adorable.

What a fun list.
Thanks!
That's too bad about your thoughts on Alec, but you're right. It really does lead to those right away. I just think it's too cute.
You're right that Avey is too close to the girl Avery/Ava (even though Avery is a boy name...). It's a shame.
Is Charlie really more popular for girls? Yikes. I know that Charlotte is definitly skyrocketing. I do like Charles nn Charlie.
Aniel/Ani- I've never heard of it and would almost think it a boys name as it's like Daniel without the D
Adeline- I love it, but agree that with Addison popular, it'll just be the next step
Eloise - cute
Elodie - I like Eloise better
Estella - love it
Felicity - cute
Guinevere - pretty, but a mouthful
Madeline/Maisie- Madeline is too popular (or will be soon), Maisie is cute
Marigold/Maisie- nms
Alec - I like this
Avram/Avey - nice!
Curtis - nms
Callum - great
Charlie- I prefer Charles nn Charlie
Henry/Hank- Henry is great, Hank is nms
Isaac - love it
Julian - love it
Max(field/imilian)- Maximilian is nice
Phineas/Finney- Phineas is great
Tobias - okay, but maybe too much for a child
Thanks!
I'm glad that you like Avram! Most people aren't seeming to swallow that one too well.
