Hi,
What do you think of these two names both for a girl. Poppy Elizabeth and Holland (I don't have a middle name yet)? Thanks for the input. Jessica

I grew up with a Poppy but she spelled it Poppi. I think it is really cute. I don't like Holland very much. I hear it and I think Austin Powers. :) KT

I like Poppy a lot, I believe it is very popular in the UK. Holland is nice, but not my favorite.

Thanks, I know Poppy is popular with the English. I can't seem to find anyone (other than here) that likes the name. My DH doesn't like it, people think it's too weird. Holland isn't really my fave either. Jessica

I have not read ahead yet but will because I love both of these names. Holland is interesting. We are living in Belgium right now and have wanted to think of something to name our next little one that has something to do with this area. Holland is a great option. Poppy Elizabeth is adorable! The first mn with Holland that came to mind is Holland Abigail.

Poppy Elizabeth and Holland

Poppy is cute, maybe even too cute? If I were to use it I'd make sure it had something to go along with that left some other options open for professional use, etc.

Holland, just nms.

I just couldn't do "Poppy" to a girl. Think of her answering her business phone! Think of her saying "Yes, my name is Poppy. Yes, Poppy!...uh, my parents liked the flower. No, they weren't into opium." It's a cute way of saying Grandpa. Now, Elizabeth Poppy would be fine, since she could hide Poppy away and only have to explain it once in a blue moon.

Holland could be called Holly, but I think it would help if there were a story behind why she's named that, because she'd have to explain it.

Poppy sounds too nick-namish. also, it's what a lot of little kids call their grandfathers. I know there's the one popular actress named that, but I personally would never use it

as far as Holland, I went to high school with a boy named Holland.

Holland is okay, but the name Poppy....all I can say is that it really makes me laugh. It's a horrible name for a baby.

I have a neighbor named Poppy. She's a very well educated, beautiful and creative professional woman. I think she fits the name well. I love it.
