We are looking for a nice eastern name, one preferably that sounds elegant, strong and mysterious.

Sha-RAH-ra - sharara means 'spark of flame'
we also like
Azahra
Leila
Zaraqqa
Delilah
Ayisha
Zafira

Mostly though we love L sounds, i like Z's because they are unusual

Hi! I am all for unique names, and I agree that there is just something about those "Z's".

Sha-RAH-ra - sharara means 'spark of flame'--i had a hard time saying this one even with the help. At first glance I thought desert.

Azahra--This one is cute. Again alittle hard to say. Maybe spelled Azairah.
Leila--Love Lila...
Zaraqqa--Zara or Zarah is cute, but couldn't figure this one out.
Delilah--Not a fan of the DE in there. Lila/Lilah is much nicer.
Ayisha--I really like this one.
Zafira--Best I can do, sounds like Elvira.

Other suggestions (L and Z):

Zaria
Layla
Aja
Aza
Aliza/Eliza
Anastazia/Anastasia
Layla
Azailee
Azalea
Azalia
Azelie
Azia
Azlynn
Calizza
Chezleigh
Diaz
Ezella
Ezria
Iza
Izarra
Veda
Jozlyn/Jazlyn
Kazia
Makenzie
Lakyn
Lazandra
Lesa/Leeza
Mazie/Maisie
Nevia/Neve
Shazia
Taylin
Caitalyn (Kite-uh-lyn)
Zaelia

I think Sharara is a bit too R heavy and ends up sounding like I'm growling if I try to say it out loud. I think it's very pretty in theory, but in practice, a bit difficult to say.

I think Azahra or just Zara/Zahra are very pretty, and I like Zafira a lot, too.

Leila is pretty, but I don't think it will end up being as unique as you'd like with all the little Lily/Lilas being born now.

Zaraqqa and Delilah are just NMSAA, and I don't think they're as pretty as your other choices.

Ayisha doesn't give me that elegant, strong, mysterious image that you're going for. It's pretty enough, but I see it more as "little girl cute" if that makes sense.

So my vote goes to Azahra with Zafira a close second. If you don't care about the popularity of similar-sounding names, Leila would be one of my choices, too. Good luck whatever you decide!
