I guess after having three girls it's easier to come up with names you would really like to use for a boy.

You have a great list here--names that are recognizable without being on every third kid.

Abe: Not as a full name, but I love Abe as a nn.

Abel: My personal favorite full name for Abe. It was on our list--made it into the final three for our son, and may well show up as a mn at a later date.

Abram: Though I love Abe, I prefer Bram as a nn for this one...and it is VERY handsome.

Calvin: I like it, but it doesn't dazzle me the way Abel or Abram would. It feels more preppy to me.

Cormac: Love it--one of the Irish names that hasn't gotten played out!

Edward: I like Edward, but Eddie doesn't thrill me. It's one of those names that I just want to launch from infancy to practicing attorney to avoid the "Eddie" phase.

Finn: Handsome, but cropping up a lot these days.

George: Edwards and George would be adorable on brothers...

Harry: As a nn, I like it. As a full name, it calls for glasses and a scar.

Jasper: I love this one...it doesn't really come with what I consider a feasible nn (Jazz always feels faux to me) but it's terribly cute in a rough-hewn sort of way.

Jonah: Nothing wrong with this...I just doesn't excite me.

Jonas: And, for some reason, I find this more interesting.

Lyle: This may be my one "thumbs down."

Mack: Not as a given name, which is sad since most of the Mac-names have been hijacked for small girls, but I just feel like there should be more too it--Malcolm or Maxwell or something.

Magnus "Gus": Or Mack? I'm not thrilled with Magnus, but it's not a bad name at all.

Oliver: I directed Oliver Twist. Done by eighth graders. So I'm a bit biased. It feels overly posh to me.

Pierce- It's very handsome. Pierce Brosnan definitely does well by it...

Quinn: LOVE this on a boy--it's so sturdy and sporty.

Royce: This is gorgeous, and doesn't seem to be every place. I like it.

Samuel: There was a rush of Sams right around the time I was finishing college, so it feels overly popular to me as compared to the rest of your list.

Silas: Silas and Jasper would be awesome on brothers.

Simon: This is like Oliver for me. Nothing wrong with it, just feels a bit too posh. (This despite my ongoing crush on Simon Cowell.)

Theo: Due to the meaning, it always feels to me like you're naming your child "God" when you give this as a full name, so I always giggle a bit. But it IS handsome.

Theodore: Handsome, maybe a bit posh, and definitely NOT to be paired with Simon!
