Here's our individual lists for baby #3. Kinda small, but we're working on it. Combo's/Opinions??

DH's Boys
Abram (he loves it-I hate it)
Jonah (I don't love it, but better than Abram)

DH Girls
Kendall
Sara
Madison
Payton
Mabry

My Girls
Carys (top 1-I LOVE this name)
Merren/Maryn
Mabry (May-Bree)
Finley

*I don't have a boy list, yet*

Our two kids names our Hanna Kate and Grant Walker. Although, our style is seems traditional, we want something different. We thought Hanna was-obviously-its not.

Thanks for all the help!

Hi there. Congrats on #3!

Hanna & Grant are great names.

Here are my thoughts on your lists:

DH's Boys
Abram (he loves it-I hate it)-Sorry, but I'm w/your Dh here. I love it! It's strog, handsome, & unique. Abe is a darling nn too, that goes really well w/Hanna & Grant.

Jonah (I don't love it, but better than Abram)-I like this one too, but it might be a little too close to Hanna. Maybe Jonas?

DH Girls

Kendall-Meh, that's nms. I've known a couple of boys named this. It's nothing compared to the classic & feminine Hanna.

Sara-Obviously not very different, but a great name. I like it for you.

Madison-No no no. No! They're everywhere. It's so unorginal & trendy. Yuck.

Payton-No. See Kendall.

Mabry-I don't know. It doesn't really seem to work.

My Girls

Carys (top 1-I LOVE this name)-That's nice. It's not my favorite name ever, but it's perfectly nice. I like it w/Hanna & Grant. It's simple, but different.

Merren/Maryn-Same as above, but I like Maren. It's the most straightforward & least fussy.

Mabry (May-Bree)-At least this is on both of your lists, LOL. I still don't know though. What about Maisie?

Finley-I really only like this one for a boy.

Hope this helps!

I REALLY like both of his boy names. I like Jonah slightly better but I think Abram is pretty unique & cool.

Of the girls I like Mabry, Sara & Maren (or Maryn). Not too crazy about the others.

I like Payton from the girls list - Jonah from the boys list

I don't like Abram at all either

I'm not crazy for any of the other girls names from either list, though

I realize Payton is unisex, it's one of the few unisex's that I like for both genders

good luck

DH's Boys
- Abram (he loves it-I hate it): I'm not too crazy about it, myself. I would go with just Bram, except that's a little too close in sound to Grant.
- Jonah (I don't love it, but better than Abram): I agree with a pp that it's too similar to Hanna. Jonas is a nice alternative.

DH Girls
- Kendall: This is definitely nms.
- Sara: I like Sara a lot, and it goes really well with Hanna and Grant.
- Madison: I'm not a fan of this one, either.
- Payton: Same as Kendall and Madison.
- Mabry: Makes me think of Mayberry.

My Girls
- Carys (top 1-I LOVE this name): I'm with you on this one! I love it.
- Merren/Maryn: Maryn is nice, but I prefer Carys from your list.
- Mabry (May-Bree): Again with The Andy Griffith Show.
- Finley: I don't care for this name.

It sounds like your husband is into biblical names, what with Sara, Abram, and Jonah on his list. You already have a Hanna, as well. Some suggestions:

BOYS:
- Aaron
- Adam
- Benjamin
- Caleb
- Daniel
- David
- Eli
- Gabriel
- Gideon
- Isaac
- Jacob
- Jesse
- Luke
- Mark
- Matthew
- Nathaniel
- Omri
- Reuben
- Seth

GIRLS:
- Abigail
- Deborah
- Esther
- Joanna
- Judith
- Rachel
- Rebecca

If you want not-so-common, your husband is closer with funky Abram than with Jonah--Jonah is popping up more frequently these days. But I love Abram, and love Bram even more (but that might get confusing with Grant.)

From the girls' lists, I really only like Carys, Maryn and Mabry. Sara is very old-school; Kendall, Madison and Peyton are massively trendy; and Finn names are all over for boys so Finley for a girl doesn't strike me as all that interesting. I know you want something different, but with Hanna and Grant setting precedent, I think I would go with something that people might have at least heard before to connect with them...so I think I'd go with either Carys or Maryn.

If you honestly hate Abram- why even bother getting opinions on it? I suggest narrowing down the list to names that you both like. I love Carys and Maren with your kids' names and for boys, Jonah is adorable!

I'm totally digging Carys Mabry, but our last name is Ball. Is the Bree in Mabry too much with Ball as a last name. Does it flow well?

I'm not crazy about Madison, but I was thinking of Carys Madison. I think it flows nice and I would be including his name too.

Thoughts?

is Carys supposed to be pronounced like k-air-is? if so, i like the spelling Charis better, though you probably already have seen that spelling and is why you chose carys.
