1. Fiona -- I LOVE this name, but I think it sounds strange with Oliver and Claudia. It seems pretty ethnic and they aren't Irish/Scottish at all. It's not a terrible match, but I would be surprised by it.

2. Marina -- I love this. (I also love Karina, if you are still looking for options.) This would be a great choice.

3. Melanie -- This is really growing on me lately.

4. Sabrina -- This isn't my favorite, but it seems like a perfect match with your kids stylistically. I'd really like them as a set.

5. Ilona (Hungarian name pronounced ee-LOH-nuh) -- I think this is beautiful and I love that it honors your husband's heritage without being too "out there". This one goes perfectly with Oliver and Claudia.

6. Giana/Gianna (pronounced jee-AH-nuh, which sp?) -- I love this. But only for an Italian family. This name is beautiful but very ethnic and I'd be quite surprised to hear it on anyone else. The correct spelling is Gianna.

7. Elena/Elaina (pronounced eh-LAY-nuh, which sp?) -- I like Elena a lot. However, this name is SO popular right now, moreso than you think because there are so many spellings of it (Elena, Elaina, Elayna, Alayna, Alaina, etc). Also, the "Ellie" names is general are extremely popular right now -- Ellen, Eleanor, Elena, Gabrielle, Isabelle, etc. It's a lovely name, but I'd go with one of your less popular options.

8. Tiana (pronounced tee-AH-nuh)-- not a fan of this one. I see tiara when I look at it.

9. Geneva -- This is pretty, but I don't like it as much as your other options. Also I can't get past the place association. I would assume that someone using this name has some deep emotional connection to Geneva, Switzerland. If you do, great. If not, I'd think you were just trying to sound more wordly/well-traveled than you actually are and it would come across as fakely pretentious.

10. Miranda -- love this. Pretty and strong and underused. Perfect with Oliver and Claudia. I like it a lot.

My favoriters for you are: Marina, Sabrina, Miranda, Melanie and Ilona.

Hello and welcome!

Your children's names are very distinctive. When we parents set such guidelines, we set ourselves up for a major challenge with future children, don't we? LOL I know; I've been there.

I have many comments on your list. Please keep in mind I'm quite picky about siblings especially when I LIKE the

I'll try to keep this short, as most of my comments seem to echo Annie's. ;)

With Oliver and Claudia:

Fiona -- has an obvious Scottish/Irish feel, so it seems an odd match with your other kids' names. However, since you mentioned having Irish, English and Hungarian ties, this could be your "Irish" name, Oliver English and Claudia Hungarian (I could be wrong, but I believe it is used there as well?). Just a possible little connection.

Marina -- I like this, and think it works with your other two

Melanie -- seems much less substantial next to Oliver and Claudia. Not sure how to word it, but it just seems a much less "adult" classic type name, if you KWIM?

Sabrina -- great fit

Ilona (Hungarian name pronounced ee-LOH-nuh) -- I LOVE this for you. Probably my favorite of this list.

Giana/Gianna (pronounced jee-AH-nuh, which sp?) -- you didn't mention having an Italian background, so this would seem odd to me.

Elena/Elaina (pronounced eh-LAY-nuh, which sp?) -- either of these spellings is more popular than Elisa. Elaina is 438 and Elena 217, and that's not even taking into account any of the similar names/spellings, such as Alaina (252), Alana (169), etc., so overall, this seems MUCH more popular. Elisa is only 535. So given you've ruled out Elisa due to popularity concerns, I'd say the same applies here.

Tiana (pronounced tee-AH-nuh) -- this seems an odd match with Oliver and Claudia. FWIW, this is a very ethnic name in my area (not sure about yours), and has many similar variations -- Tianna, Tiara, Tierra, Tia, etc. So at least here, it would seem much more popular than it looks and would kind of blur into all the other ethnically-trendy T names. Probably my least favorite from this list.

Geneva -- nms. I also immediately think of the place, and if you have no ties to Geneva I don't understand the appeal.

Miranda -- this is a nice fit as well ;)

Fiona ~I love this one! I have a friend in England with this name and she is stunning!

Marina ~I like this one a lot too! Sounds very sweet, and a little European... :-)

Melanie ~it's okay... I think it means "dark", which is fine, but it's weird b/c it seems confusing to me- the name SOUNDS bright and cheery, but means something that is...not so.

Sabrina ~love it! I also love Sabine. They are probably from different origins, but I just thought I'd mention that I like them both.

Ilona (Hungarian name pronounced ee-LOH-nuh) ~like it a lot!!! :-)

Giana/Gianna (pronounced jee-AH-nuh, which sp?) ~this was is a little common in my area, but I love it. I like the "Gianna" spelling better.

Elena/Elaina (pronounced eh-LAY-nuh, which sp?) ~also common. I like "Elena".

Tiana (pronounced tee-AH-nuh) ~I like it.

Geneva ~I wouldn't personally use it, but I do like the name a lot! :-)

Miranda ~I like this one a lot. I prefer Melinda, but I think this is a nice name as well. :-)

I think Fiona, Sabrina, or Miranda would go great with Claudia and Oliver. :-)

Best of luck!

Hi there, Annette. Congrats on #3! Oliver & Claudia are fabulous names. Here are my thoughts on your list:

Fiona -This is very pretty. I like it w/your kids' names too. It's not too popular either.

Marina -Lovely. Just lovely as a sister to Claudia especially.

Melanie -That's cute. I like it, but it doesn't have quite as much definition as Claudia does, if you know what a I mean. It's a bit more light hearted. Totally not an issue, but in the interest of narrowing down your awesome list I'll be picky!

Sabrina -I really like this one.

Ilona (Hungarian name pronounced ee-LOH-nuh) -That's pretty. I'd be a tad concerned about pronounciation issues, but it's a nice way to honor heritage.

Giana/Gianna (pronounced jee-AH-nuh, which sp?) -If you like jee-ah-nuh, I'd spell it Giana. Gianna would be jee-anne-uh, imo. I love the nn Ani! This is nice.

Elena/Elaina (pronounced eh-LAY-nuh, which sp?) -I like Elena, unless you wanted to do teh nn Lainey. Then, Elaina. This is pretty, but may be more popular than you think.

Tiana (pronounced tee-AH-nuh) -Eh, that's nms. I do love the Ana part, but Giana sounds much more defined.

Geneva -I don't love this one, but it's not bad.

Miranda-That's nms, but it's not bad.

Probably ruled out due to popularity concerns: Amelia, Elisa, Evelyn -Yeah, good call. I really love Amelia though.

I'm totally no help because your list is all so nice! I suppose if I had to pick (two?) that are the best in general & w/your kids' names they'd be Marina & Sabrina. Hope this helps!

Fiona - not my style

Melanie - nice, but not my style. I like the nn Anie/Annie, but burnt out on "Mel"
Sabrina - nice, I also like Zabrina
Ilona (Hungarian name pronounced ee-LOH-nuh) - Too off the wall for "me"
Giana/Gianna (pronounced jee-AH-nuh, which sp?) - nice, I like it
Elena/Elaina (pronounced eh-LAY-nuh, which sp?) - I positively LOVE Elaina!
Tiana (pronounced tee-AH-nuh) - nice
Geneva - nice
Miranda - it's "ok"

Hi there,
With Oliver and Claudia...

I really like Miranda (poss nn. Mindy) This is something I would have considered but it sounds bad with our ln.

I love Melanie!

Marina seems really nice with your kid's names or Elena.

Ilona and Geneva are different too, I think they could grow on me.
