I am 8 week pregnant with Baby number 3. I know I have awhile to go until we find out the sex or until we really have to decided on a name. Well the Chinese Calendar said I am having another Girl. Which is really what I want but if I got a boy I would be just as happy. Well the names we have picked out so far for a Boy is Alexander Elrod. Elrod is his Favorite Grandma's maiden name so thats what we decided on. For a Girl at first I wanted Scarlette Isabella but now I have changed my mind. I now want Grier Isabella I think the name Grier is so pretty but my Husband disagrees with me. Well I told him since I have to carry the baby and go through Birth I get to name (If its a her) whatever I want.

What do you think of the name Grier?

I'm not a big fan of Grier... it sounds like an old lady name to me.

I don't think Grier is pretty, per se, but I think it's a cool, tailored name. I would, however, not use it if your husband genuinely dislikes it. Yes, we go through the labor...but that's just a brief part of the kid's life. Hopefully the dad is part and parcel of the rest of their lives, so I'd say it's more a 60/40 split as to whose opinion carries weight. *laugh*

See my oldest Daughter (18 months) her name is Avaley (AVA-LEE). I came up with the name I can't find it in baby name books or anything. But she is named after my dad with the Ley I knew if I had a Girl her name would be Ava Grace and I just added the Ley. And I misscarried baby 9/28/07 and we agree that we wanted to name the Baby Danni I didn't know the sex so thats what I call my Angel baby is Danni! And the only reason why I told my Husband that I should be able to name the baby whatever I want is because he is not wanting to help try to find a name. I want something different like Avaley but he wants something like Mariah or Sara or Rachel and I don't like them I want something unique, pretty but different.

I have had mixed feeling about Grier but when I looked it up it says it is girls name. I like it and so does some of my family other then the Husband. But I am working on him... And another thing thats hard for me to find a name is our last name screws every name I pick out up! I LOVE the name Heidi but my last name is Mann and when you put the 2 names together you get Heidi Mann.... It really does not sound right at all... I still have a while to go before we have to really decided on a Baby name but I just wanted opinions on the name Grier and how everyone else thought about it.

I agree with your husband on this one; I don't like Grier at all, except if it were a family name in the middle name spot.

Ok so night when I got home from school we started taking about names more.... Well he said he really does not like the name Grier and asked me to find something else.... Well this is what he really likes and I like it too.. Matilda Isabella. I kinda have been looking at that name and the way the ONLY name I ask Ricky if he liked it and he immediately said "Yes I like that name, thats what I want!!!" So I guess if we have a Boy he will be Alexander Elrod (Favorite Grandma's maiden name) Girl: Matilda Isabella...

So do you like that better then Grier? Is anyone happy I changed it? haha

I think it's adorable (but I liked Grier, too...) But Matilda is fun and strong and spunky and Tilda Swinton winning an Oscar the other night has to help with the recognition factor, too.
