Popular name--should I still use it?

Hello ladies,
I started a discussion and a poll yesterday about my 4th daughter's name. Your feedback has been so interesting and helpful. Thank you to all who responded.
I had one more question for you. I really do love Julia Elizabeth with my other daughters' names (Clara, Sophia and Eva), but I know that Julia is very popular right now. That is my only hang-up about the name. Helena and Louisa are lovely, old-fashioned and go with my girls' names, but I don't think they go as well as Julia. So anyway, my question is this: Would you still use a name that you love and that goes with your other kids' names, even if that name is really popular?
My husband thinks we should go for it. He thinks I'll regret not using Julia later on down the road when it's not as popular. I just don't know. . . I'd love to hear your thoughts on this. Your other comments were so helpful.
Thanks!
Cynthia

Yes, absolutely! If I really loved the name more than all the other names I'd considered, then popularity would not deter me from using it. Best wishes.
I know Julia may be on the rise in popularity, but it's such a lovely, classic name. I like it best of your choices.

If you love it enough to not mind a few others sharing the name, and especially if you think you'd regret not using it, then by all means don't let a little popularity stop you.
I'm definitely one to mention a name's popularity if the parents seem unaware. I mean, it's one thing to have loved Emily for years or want to use it to honor your grandmother of the same name, but quite another to use it because you think it's an uncommon, underused name (only to find there are five others in her kindergarten class). I also wouldn't advise simply plucking names from the top ten and limiting yourself to ONLY popular names, as some seem to do, when there are so many other wonderful options out there. But as long as you're aware of the popularity and comfortable with it, you're safe. :)
FWIW, Julia's not THAT popular. Top 30s, yes, but it's no Emily or Emma. And even if it were, sometimes you have to look past the numbers and give more weight to your reasons for wanting to use the actual name.
After all, despite liking less common names myself, my own dh did talk me into a top ten name less than a year ago (and I love it to this day). It's not trendy, misspelled or made-up. It's a lovely, traditional, old-fashioned name that happens to be hot right now, and I would have regretted not using it just because of that.
